About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seeing the World. (I haven't bought a round the world ticket. I want to travel to some places but others places can also come to me ;-)

ABOUT ME

When I was younger, people thought that I was older, now that I am older, people think that I am younger. Seems like I'll be forever stuck in mid twenties ;-) I suppose it's to do with me always having been quite mature and never really done anything that I'd regret(could be from being the eldest of three sisters), but at the same time open-minded and always happy to learn new things. Some people think that I am shy, but most think that I am making a really lame joke when I say that, as they have experienced me giving an ad hoc speech when I feel passionate about something. Two weeks ago, I attended a conference in Berlin on Cultural Diplomacy in Afghanistan and Central Asia. We were only three participants as many from A. didn't get their visas in time. Because I got along really well with the Italian and the Afghan guy, we went out in the evening. I first gave them a tour of the main sights of Berlin and then we happened on the pride party at the Brandenburg gate. We enjoyed the party. The Italian guy was very surprised that people actually started to leave when the music was turned off at midnight. The guy from Afghanistan said, that they are happy to adopt good ideas from the West, but not such bad things as gay marriage. When I tried to explain to him in the next half hour, that gay marriage is not a bad thing and that I am sure, there are many gay people in Afghanistan as there are in Germany, I could have been mistaken for the Italian person in the group ;-)In fact, the Italian just calmly said: It's absolutely fine, people are born this way and now you two make peace :P I think this little anecdote gives a bit of an idea about what sort of person I am. Always up for an interesting discussion, however, not the sort of person to talk for the sake of enjoying my own voice.

PHILOSOPHY

Live, breathe, laugh, love, work, study, read, write, cycle, run, swim, juggle, eat, talk, listen, talk, listen, talk, pray and by all means never take life serious.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None as organised through the website. But hosted friends from England in my flat in Germany and had a great time showing them around Potsdam and Berlin. Also, whenever I come back to Nottingham I stay with friends. It's great sitting together, cooking and eating, talking and noticing how similar opionions people can have even through they come from very different countries.

Interests

I have tried to put up photos according to my interests. The list is not complete yet, but I think they give a good first impression of what kind of person I am.

..... (More to come)

I like to go out once in a while and dance the night away but I am definitely not someone who knows the cool clubs in Berlin. ;-)

Also, shortly after that Helvellyn in the English Lake District.
Went to Las Vegas on my own. Well, I had a video camera; that made me feel less lonely.
