Interested in literature, film, food, people and culture. Very interested in nanobots! Excited about the advances taking place in medicine that will change the lives of millions for the better.

PHILOSOPHY

Give something good to the world and make it a better place where you can. That is why I like the idea of couchsurfing, co-ops, community groups, choirs, etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We picked up a lovely Frenchman in Tasmania when he was backpacking and he came to stay - he was passionate about animals and the bush. It was not through this site, but we thought since we have a couple of spare rooms that it would be nice to host someone, or maybe a couple, on an occasional weekend.

Interests

David likes wine and beer, football and music, funny shows and documentaries. I like people, interesting live music and festivals,cooking, reading, trees and flowers, herbs, fruit and quizes. We are getting fitter and slimmer gradually but do like to visit great cafes, restaurants and get out for the day.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like the beautiful movies that leave you with an uplifting thought - recently "Life of Pi" and "Argo" was great. I also like the clever movies that take the genre and twist it - like "Fargo", "The Guard" and "Adaptation".
Music: I love songwriters like Rufus Wainwright, Ray La Montagne and Gotye (plus many more local artists) plus the music my own two musician offspring make.
I read a lot of books on ipad these days. I also like some sci-fi as it is so imaginative - I recently read "Ender's Game" and thought it was brilliant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The fiords of New Zealand were amazing.Travelling around Italy in 2012 for a month was the best holiday ever. Picking cherries on the outskirts of Melbourne was amazing. Seeing koalas in trees on Raymond Island in Gippsland was amazing.
