About Me

Hey there! I'm Marko, I would describe myself as "Cool like a fool in a swimming pool" :)

I am currently not traveling myself and I'm available to host travelers. I look forward to meeting new people and sharing my hometown with others. I'm an easygoing and relaxed person who loves to meet new people and experience different cultures.

Sometimes I'm shy, other times I'm outgoing, and sometimes I can be silent and other times talkative. But, at my core, I am quite easygoing and relaxed.

When it comes to socializing, I love to stay with smiley people, go out, have a beer, and dance my ass off all night in a techno club. But, at the same time, when I'm feeling lazy, I love to stay at home and chill, surf the net, cook, watch a movie or listen to some music, or go relax in nature.

One of my biggest passions is meeting new people and speaking about any kind of stuff. I believe that there is always something new to learn and discover, especially while traveling around the world. I am curious, open-minded and always looking for new perspectives and experiences.

So, if you're ever in the mood for a good conversation, a beer or a dance, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm always up for a good time and making new friends.

As the Dalai Lama once said, "No need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness." This quote has always resonated with me because it speaks to the core of my personal philosophy. I believe in the power of kindness and compassion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to really get to know new places and their cultures. It lets me meet local people and learn about their lives. I like going to Couchsurfing events in Helsinki to make friends and learn about different ways of living. This has helped me meet amazing people and see things from their point of view. I also enjoy sharing about my own culture and trying foods from around the world. Couchsurfing gives me a special way to travel, learn, and grow.

Interests

I have many different interests. I love meeting people, making friends, and learning about other cultures. I enjoy spending time with both friends and new people. Cooking is also important to me; I like trying new recipes and learning about food from different places. Watching movies and TV shows is a way for me to relax. I also like listening to music and finding new bands and DJ's. Traveling is another hobby of mine; I love visiting new places and meeting new people. I also like to stay with locals when I travel and sometimes go to underground techno parties for fun. All these things help me learn, have fun, and understand myself and the world better.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I am a music lover and enjoy a wide variety of genres. My favorite type of music is electronic music, such as techno, trance and house. I also enjoy indie rock and anything with a unique and creative sound. However, I am open to listening to almost any kind of music, as I believe that each genre has its own beauty and complexity.

Movies: I am a fan of independent films and art films. Some of my favorite movies include "Biutiful," "Kunsten at græde i kor," "The Welts", "The Human Experience", "Life in a Day". I also enjoy documentaries and find that they offer a unique and informative perspective on different subjects.

Books: I am a lover of books that have the ability to entertain, make me think, and teach me something new. I enjoy a wide range of literature, including biography, memoir, autobiography, personal narrative, non-fiction. I am always looking for new and interesting books to read, and I believe that reading is a lifelong learning process that can be both fun and educational.

In conclusion, music, movies and books are an integral part of my life. They entertain me, make me think, and help me learn about the world and myself. I am always looking for new and exciting ways to expand my cultural horizons and to enrich my understanding of the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done is joining Couchsurfing. It's been the best thing ever! Not only have I met some of the most wonderful and interesting people from all over the world, but I've also been able to travel and experience new cultures in a more authentic way. Being able to stay with locals and get a true sense of the place I'm visiting has been an incredible experience. I've made lifelong friends and memories through Couchsurfing and I'm so grateful for the platform and the community.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have had the opportunity to meet and host many interesting people from all over the world. Through these experiences, I have learned a lot about different cultures and ways of life. I have also had the chance to share my own culture and way of life with others.

I can teach my guests about the local area and help them navigate the city, whether it be through pointing out the best restaurants or showing them the must-see sights. I am also happy to share my knowledge of the local language and customs.

In addition to teaching, I am always eager to learn from my guests. Whether it's learning about a new culture or picking up a new language, I am always open to learning new things.

Lastly, I am happy to share my home and my time with my guests. I believe that the most valuable thing I can share is the experience of living with a local and getting a true sense of what it's like to live in my city. Whether it's sharing a meal together or having a conversation, I believe that these small moments of connection can make a big difference in someone's travel experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a guest, I believe in the principle of paying it forward and being a gracious host myself. If you decide to open your doors and host me, I would be more than happy to return the favor in any way I can. Whether it be bringing a small gift, such as a bottle of wine or a box of chocolates, taking you out for a meal, or even cooking a meal for you. I value experiences, moments, and knowledge more than material things, so I'm more than willing to share my time and company with you. Laughter, hugs, and good conversation are all things I can offer as a guest. I am also happy to share my travel experiences and tips with you as well. Overall, my goal as a guest is to be respectful, considerate, and to make the most of our time together.
