Im a baby boomer who went straight into work from school and never did a gap year so am going to do it now! I live and work in Market Harborough in the UK, working for myself. The plan is to travel as much as my finances will allow. Love travelling by train mostly and hope to use extensively. I like and do the same as most people I guess. Always interested in the places I visit . As a sport I love skiing and some of my time will be taken doing this I guess. Will be seeking out some festivals and music gatherings to visit in the summer months. Good food and drink always appreciated but can live frugally if needs be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Im on couchsurfing because I love travelling (of course!) and would love the opportunity to meet local people when I go. I plan to do a lot of travelling very soon when I (semi) retire. Until then would be great to meet some new people on the occasions when I get a chance to get away. I look forward also to hosting any travellers that come my way although Market Harborough in the UK doesnt seem to be that much of a pull!! Its a pretty good place though near Leicester and has some interesting things to visit which I will happily show people around. Its one of the best places to live in the UK (according to one of the many surveys done - apparently!), well I dont know about that but its perfectly fine. Some good restaurants and pubs and well placed for visits elsewhere being on the mainline train route to London which is only an hour away.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - AC/DC (seen them many times) Metallica (once) and that Genre pretty much although like all sorts as well from classical upwards. Movies - Gladiator, Planes Trains and Automobiles, Mars attacks. And although not a movie Seinfeld series, loved and watched times over. Books - Long way round. Ewan McGregor motor cycle tour round the world. Pillars of the earth. Great read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Was at Monsters of Rock festival Donnington park when AC DC headlined in 1981 (or 1982 cant recall exact date) - and saw The Wall at Earls Court in London with Pink Floyd same sort of time.
