I am very open and outgoing person, as a paramedic I enjoy helping people. I am married to a wonderful person for 20 years and we have been dating for 9 years before we got married, so yes 29 years we have 3 beautiful children. I like to meet people from different cultures and countries . I am passionate about search and rescue, I assist in the Haiti and Nepal earthquakes. I was a senior lecturer at the College of Emergency Medical Care & Rescue for sixteen years and currently heading the Free State Disaster Management Center.
I am also perusing my PhD in Health Professions Education at the University of the Free State. I also render my service as a coordinator for the Humanitarian organization Gift of the Givers in the search and rescue section.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Love traveling and meet people from different cultures.In South Africa we us the term “Ubuntu”, meaning "humanity". It is often also translated as "humanity towards others", but is often used in a more philosophical sense to mean "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity. My personal view about couchsurfing these days is that it has become difficult for individuals to host you. e.g. secret words or places, get appraise first, read my profile or what do we have in common? I am cognizant of the fact that people priorities and circumstances has change. The sole reason that I join couchsurfing is due to huge cost to travel abroad. The value of the South African rand to the Euro, Pound or Dollar is of little value, for 16 South African Rand to get 1 Euro, you do the maths! A simple Yes or No will do.
