About Me

Hello there!

My name is Markus. I'm a digital nomad who enjoys traveling the world, discovering new things (mostly food and unique places), and meeting new people. I always enjoy learning about the culture and language of the place I'm visiting because I feel as a guest it is important to be respectful to the people who have been kind enough to open both doors and arms for me.

One of the best ways of doing this is through CouchSurfing, WorkAway, and other similar sites. When I'm not teaching or translating 2-3 days a week I roam around, sharing good vibes and making some fun travel videos on my YouTube channel “Marky Nomad”. (Sub 4 🍪)

I really hope I'll be able to meet you, share a little of my culture and learn some of yours, and despite me not drinking alcohol I'm down to do whatever! Just hit me up!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's an amazing way to interact with locals and learn about the places I go. When I was young I would just go to places and do similar things like the beach and out eating burgers, but since I started solo traveling in 2016 I realized there are so many amazing things hidden everywhere that sometimes even the most attentive eyes cannot catch. That's why having a local to share those moments with is ideal and in return I can do my best to make their life a little more colorful!

Interests

Hiking, beaches, Buddhism/spirituality, mountain climbing, cooking, basketball, photography, vlogging & visiting new places.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love techno, jazz, psychedelic rock, funk & indie!
Psychological thrillers and horror movies!
I'm gonna be honest.. I don't read as much as I should, but right now I'm reading a lot about Buddhism since I just finished ordaining as a monk in Ratchaburi! If you’re into spiritualism or Buddhism I’d love to have a meaningful conversation!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been a Buddhist monk 🧘🏼‍♂️ 🧡 ☸️

Teach, Learn, Share
