About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Currently navigating the East Coast after four years in Portland Oregon...following dreams (and my girlfriend as she is attending grad school in NY); I landed a job in Nyack and am looking for a place to crash for a bit until I can get a room here in town

ABOUT ME

Seeker of truth, musician, wanderer in the dreamworld, devoted partner to an amazing inspiring woman(for the record, we say 'boyfriend' and 'girlfriend', quite unabashedly!), aspiring shamanistic practitioner, ever evolving and growing consciousness striving for compassionate and insightful relations with other denizens of this sometimes confounding, always amazing world.

PHILOSOPHY

A healthy and progressive life is marked by a state of perpetual questioning, re-assessing, re-configuring, and change. endless internal revolution as a method of staving off stagnancy and fostering positive growth.
It can be painful or joyful or ultimately devoid of attachment and emotion.
Without growth life would be relatively meaningless and fruitless; with it life becomes a source of ever-unfolding, ever-rewarding creation and generative beauty.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to couchsurf - this is all new to me!

Interests

I love listening to and playing all kinds of music and instruments, although my preference is for the electric guitar and gnarly metal.

Somewhat obsessed with esoteric writings / philosophies...ok scratch the qualifying 'somewhat'...just obsessed.

I love intelligent unaffected conversation; any topic could be interesting!

Trees...and rocks and rivers and animals. That's the good stuff :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Metal metal metal metal
seriously though...progressive & psychedelic rock, neo-folk, roots reggae, jazz (everything from trad jazz to free jazz!), dirty old blues, hip hop (with some pretty tight quality control in place haha), all forms of trance music (traditional stuff...not 'goa trance' haha)...anything with heart and soul.

I read a lot more reference and scholarly books than fiction at this point; usually topics such as mystical theology, philosophy, psychology and parapsychology, esoteric / occult texts etc.

Fiction I love includes the vast spetrum of work that falls anywhere between James Joyce and Herman Hesse, if you feel me on that reference.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fighting against rushing waves to climb to the top of a rock in the middle of a remote bay in Big Sur, CA...completely subsumed and humbled by the sound of waves and the sheer scope of the ocean.
eve
Standing at the forest's edge in Glacier National Forest on a clear, full moon Hallow's Eve with my girlfriend, watching silently as the temperature dropped and the water covering all the leaves and ground around us turned to ice crystals...each of them reflecting the moonlight and illuminating the landscape with an unworldly glow.

Lots of other stuff we could probably talk about in person!!!
