About Me

I studied to be an artist. But as I love my city very much, I started to work as a tour guide as well. We don't have a room to host anyone for a night yet (hope to change this soon), but I will gladly meet you and show you the city. If I have time, I may also go with you on a trip in the region for a day - for example, to show you the castles, which are not far from Lviv. I will also provide you any information on cafes-restaurants-souvenirs-museums and anything alike.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Me and my husband love travelling very much. We explore different places in Ukraine, and I also travelled abroad a bit. We would like to travel more, but usually have a modest budget. We are also very interested in meeting locals and learn languages and more about different cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Art-Rock of 1970s, especially Van der Graaf Generator, Porcupine Tree, Neurosis, Legendary Pink Dots, anything experimental (though I'm not much into jazz or rap), and rock of 60s-70s.

Movies: too many to name, but I don't usually like movies for mass-market. Something more subtle, please.

Books: Tolkien, Ursula Le Guin, Martin with his "Song of Ice and Fire", Stanislaw Lem, old-school sci-fi (and new too, when it is of good quality), Dostoyevski, everything containing interesting ideas and good understanding of human psychology. Again, too many to name. Also, I read a lot of non-fiction - particularly on history, biology, culture etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Personal exhibition of glass sculpture for my diploma: https://www.facebook.com/martha.loda/media_set?set=a.241815352580475.51526.100002560371278&type=3
