About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm 32, born in Austria, now living in Hamburg. I'm a tour guide so it's in my profession to show people this wonderful city. ;)

I really enjoy the simple things in life. Having fun while cooking or eating in lovely restaurants and meeting nice and smart people.
Having a good, cold beer with them sometimes too.
Or just by walking down the street without money or maps, without any plan or targets at all.

PHILOSOPHY
Be interested in the world and the world will be interested in you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a host and a surfer.
Became a little lazy in the last years but I wanna participate more again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

2008-09: First steps as a surfer in Stuttgart in Nürnberg and as a host for a Korean girl.
2010: 6 weeks trip from Warsaw to London. It was awesome.
2011: Surfing/Hosting in Barcelona, then surfed back home through the Basque Country & the French Atlantic Coast.
2012: Six weeks stay in Lisbon, with breaks in Algarve & Alentejo. Then on way back to Austria through Montpellier, Grenoble, St. Tropez, Torino and Ljubjana.
2013: In Toulouse and Delft and also hosting more in my flat in Hamburg

And I also love to attend to meetings and other activities, because people, who believe in the spirit of Couchsurfing, are always great company.

Interests

ART [if it's able to touch my mind]

MUSIC [There is so many good stuff out there. Taste depends on the mood. Between classic and good folk songs from all around the world on the one hand and freaky jazz or danceable/hypnotizing electronic beats on the other. I love to combine my holidays with a visit of fine music festivals like Gilles Petersons Worldwide Festival, Sonar, Melt, Benicassim and so on ...

WORDS [My own language, Austrian-German. Yes, it's not that harsh as all the not German speakers think. But more than that, I'm interested in other ways to articulate the reality surrounding us. I'm a big fan of the Basque language, even though I hardly understand anything. And I adore French and Portuguese!]

CITIES [I love to explore the relationship between people and urban structures, space and culture. They are complex systems, where humans have to act together as a society. And because I still have a lot of questions, I started a so called "Urban Design" master program in Hamburg. Not to define the "right way", no, more to understand, how the people actually wanna live together and help them to establish that in their environment.]

FOOD [and all related actions like cooking, eating, drinking, chatting and even washing the dishes! Yeah I'm fucking strange, I know =]

I love to cook, so I'm always interested in learning new recipes from other cuisines. Of course I can show you some highlights of the Austrian culture too!
