About Me

I used to dream of enlightenment. I thought it would be easy to become a great sage if I followed some kind of code! I ended up on the road instead.

I travelled pretty much all the time for 13 years. I volunteered, learnt languages, visited anyone that had an interesting take on things, stayed with many hospitable tribes or families and tried to go "off track".

Took my time to experience the world and it's beauty but I also got lost and fell at times. Life.

Speaking of fantastic things! I blundered into the Yukon in 2006 and came here because of a dream I had while oversea. My "inner child" described it as the best place to become it, so I went. I loved it and kept returning until I started living here for real in 2016. It took Dodge ten years to make me stay.

How best to explain it? The Yukon is some sort of magnet for the human soul and it will pull you into itself and breathe a new kind of life into you. I have seen it affect others too, it makes them sourdough people!

My guess is that the real treasure here is not the gold in the creeks or the silver in the hills, or even the lovable drunks in the taverns. It is something else, also hidden but felt. I hope you get to see what I mean.

I am content with this different kind of journey to self discovery, here in Dawson City. It made me slow down and love winter once more. Here, you can expect complete decadence and/or healthy growth. The choice is yours, as always.

I love to reminisce about the hidden paradises, and beautiful folks of my past, here, in my chosen place. I brought them all in my mind to the Klondike. I try to cultivate my heart and body and renovate the property I live at.

I work, hang out, give massages, enjoy nature, grow sprouts and gather plants. I'm trying to write some psychedelic fantasy too and projects keep piling up.

I hope I can help you have a good experience!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was shown a lot of hospitality in my travels, my debt is colossal.

I also find it to be a never ending source of inspiration. You can meet so many characters on couchsurfing and get to do cool stuff with them. Brand spanking new cheechakos! Their first impressions of the Klondike are lovely to see.

The people you meet on the road, it could be no more than random chance but I used to believe nothing was an accident. This website is a good study on what attracts people to one another.

Interests

I am taking a break from traveling right now. Not sure if it's forever but I find living here fulfills my human needs. There are many communities in the North that are worth a visit as well. I am a big fan of Keno City.

My dream trip oversea would be to Japan. I would cover the whole country on foot, couchsurfing, camping and staying in Zen monasteries. I could learn shiatsu massage so to combine this eastern approach with my western training. It'd be nice!

Other future destinations include Iran, Brazil, Phillipines, DR Congo and Russia.

I am interested in that unseen (and perhaps imaginary) bond between all things. Some call it synchronicity, destiny or law of attraction. It happens a lot around here and I want to amplify this energy. I think about such topics a lot...but we don't have to talk about that!

I am writing a bunch of fantasy and science-fiction, but I probably won't show it to you.

Music, Movies, and Books

One of my favorite activities is to read in a beautiful area. You know when you just look up from your page and you see a memorable view before delving again into the mind of the author. There are a few I really like: Khalil Gibran, Carl Sagan, Margaret Atwood, Richard Bach, Pierre Burton, Etgar Keret, Herman Hesse, Daniel Quinn, Naomi Klein, Steven Pinker, Krishnamurti to name a few.

I've spent years collecting the finest movies and music and e-books. I love to trade so bring a portable storage unit if you have one.
