Hello everyone! I'm Matteo, a 22-yeard-old student from Italy who just stepped in this beautiful world of Couchsurfing. I currently live in Bologna, where I'm applied to a master in Italian Language Teaching to Foreigners at the Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna. For my whole life, the study of foreign languages has always represented a major thing, that's the reason why I graduated in Foreign Languages and Cultures for International Trade in 2023. Moreover, I spent the last semester of my Bachelor in St Andrews, when I had the opportunity not only to improve my English skills, but also to meet incredible people and collect tons of amazing memories about Scotland, which has become immediatly one of my favourite places in the world.

I subscribed to Couchsurfing because I think this is an incredible opportunity for travelling, saving money and meeting people on the spot all at one time!

Interests

For what it concers my interests, I've been into music for a long period of time, since I started playing the saxophone when I was 10 years old; what I'm enjoying the most, at the moment, is participating into gigs and jam sessions, which is something I've firstly experienced during my semester in Scotland. Besides the study of music and foreign languages, I'm currently a lot into human studies and subjects such as Anthropology, Sociology, Literatures and Gender Studies, mostly due to what I've been studying in the last years, of course. In my free time, I like hanging out especially for concerts, stand up comedy shows and poetry slams; namely, I've been in close touch with this last one and I also tried to get on stage a few times with my own poems, which is something that really hit me. When I'm not doing anything of the things I've listed so far, I try to make some sport, especially running and swimming. It's all a matter of connecting with people!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can guarantee that, when I'll be visiting you, I will be the least annoying I'll be able to do but, at the same time, I hope to bring with me sympathy and fun! Moreover, I'm always keen for a meal togheter, so if you might fancy someone who's good at cooking, that's me!
