About Me

微信 WeChat: 13137909811

I am happy to meet you, but due to the Chinese firewall, I don't visit couchsurfing very often. Regrettably, I have already missed requests from travelers passing through from as far back as four months ago. My couchsurfing notifications go to my gmail account, which I also don't visit often, again due to the Chinese firewall.

After you send me a message here, please contact me on WeChat (see above) so I know to come look at your couchsurfing request.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My girlfriend, who has been a couchsurfer for years, brought me with her to a couchsurfing event over the 2015 4th of July weekend in Philadelphia. I had a great time, met a lot of good people, and the atmosphere and sense of community really appealed to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS: I read mostly non-fiction, especially about science and martial arts. Some of my favorites are "Music, the Brain, and Ecstasy," "The Singing Neanderthals," "Your Inner Fish," "The Diversity of Life," and "On Being Certain." I honestly haven't read much fiction, but I was a huge fan of "Animorphs" during my early teen years.

I also enjoy writing, and I would like to author some of my own books in the future.

MOVIES: I like science documentaries and kung fu movies. I'll watch pretty much any documentary from BBC, and my favorite action stars at Tony Jaa, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Scott Adkins, and Donny Yen. I also like animated movies in the styles of Pixar, Dreamworks, or Disney.

If I make a lot of progress in my martial arts studies, I think it would be fun to play a minor character in a kung fu movie.

Many people have mentioned that I have an appealing voice, so if I could get the chance, I would love to attempt a career as a narrator for wildlife documentaries!

MUSIC: I listen to several sub-genres of metal, especially some of the more progressive or technical bands. I also like classical music, traditional music from around the world, and goa trance.

Music composition is also a hobby of mine. I've been composing MIDI music since 2003, but I can't play any instruments very well and I haven't published anything yet. When I am in China, I want to learn to play some of their traditional instruments, especially 马头琴 (Mongolian horse head cello) and other string instruments.
