ABOUT ME

I'm a keen traveler and couchsurfer, now adventuring with husband and toddler. We enjoy a lot of outdoor things - camping, hiking and climbing and we've just started getting into kayaking trips (easier than backpacking when you have an extra person to carry!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once upon a time...getting drunk on new years and forgetting where my couch was and having to sleep in a London phone booth with two randoms. Not only did they have lots of much needed body warmth but they turned out to be awesome and we ended up travelling togeather for a few months.

Interests

travel, hiking, yoga, sport climbing, drinking tea and wine, drinking and mixing odd and exotic cocktails and full immersion in all glorious food! Apart from these staples I usually have at least three or four hobbies on the go - all of which I am terrible at but enjoy!

Music, Movies, and Books

books: pretty much anything by Louis de Berniere, virginia woolf, jane austen, douglas adams, some bernard cornwall (yes i am a history nerd), love all the classics like catch 22, one flew over the cukoo's nest, clockwork orange etc. also can't get enough of classic illustrated children's books like possum magic and where the wild things are.
movies: dancer in the dark, shawshank redemption, casablanca, lost in translation, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, the notebook (so disgustingly soppy but i loved it!), gentlemen prefer blondes, roman holiday (actually anything hepburn was ever in!)
music: i love super scratchy old classics like bitter green and celtic ballands, can't get enough early acidy pop like rubber bullets, love early stones and late beatles, bjork is a godess of sound (most of the time!), i need more sissor sisters in my life, basically anything that is right at the time...
