About Me

I am a working mom. We live in an apartment close to the Baltic sea about 25 minutes north of Stockholm by local commuter train "Roslagsbanan". When not working I love travel, culture, history, sailing, basketball, movies, books and outdoor activities. My youngest daughter (16 years) still lives at home. The two older are adults now and come and go between studies, jobs and travels. We all seem to have caught the travelling bug. ;)
Due to busy life working full time I host mainly on weekends and holidays and only rarely during weekdays. I have understood that Stockholm has a shortage of female hosts so I give priority to female couchsurfers, couples and parents travelling with teenagers.
House rules: Please, no perfume and remember to leave the toilet seat down after use.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Think it's a wonderful way to see the world - by proxy or from the locals' point of view. Sharing a meal or walking through Stockholm, seeing a place through other couchsurfers eyes while comparing travelstories, culture expression, history, movies, books or laughing at weird idiomatic expressens is all fun.

Interests

My life themes are ocean, nature, music, science and environment. And books and movies of course.

Music, Movies, and Books

My spotifylist has no red thread at all - I listen to classical, to classics to pop, rock, rap, indie etc. But I miss the big 80s bands like Queens, Madness, Radiohead, ABBA, Smiths etc.
I am a true cineast. Loved Milagro, the beanfield war, the Korean movie Canola and the scifi movie The Marsian to name a few.
The lists of favorite books is so long I won't even try to share it here. I am the kind of person that read the entire library when I was a kid. Honorable mentions would be The hanging tree. Or Brick Lane by Monica Ali. Outlander series. Njals saga. The Martian by Andy Weir. Or Robert Heinlein's book Have space suit, will travel. That book made me laugh so hard my mom thought I was coughing in my sleep when I was secretly reading it under my blanket with a flash light.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Apart from couch surfing. :)
Roadtrips with my kids in Europe, Viet nam, USA, Sweden etc will always at top my list. Norway is next.

Teach, Learn, Share

Want more language, learn history, books, more culture, eat good food, travel more, surfing, diving, sailing.
I am working on reviving my Spanish and learning French so if you are patient I would love to practice a bit.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A friendly disposition, decent cooking skills and conversations. Perhaps a guided tour of the city.
