About Me

CURRENT MISSION

2019 : reconnect with CS world and make new friends... hopefully!

In order to...
*LIVE MORE - LOVE MUCH - LAUGH OFTEN* 》》》To Have A Happy And Full-Filling LIFE :-)

I can't stop myself from LEARNING & SHARING. So please, show me something that YOU know!

ABOUT ME

Back in the years around 2010, I used to be pretty active with the MTL CS community. I met lots of people, had lots of hugs, laughs & smiles... Some persons became my "friends" afterwards that I miss so much! ♡

In 2011, I went to the Yukon territory and at the same period that CS changed its philosophy, I was sad and disappointed so I didnt connect to my profile for a few years. Now Im back and Im kind of lost in this new website :-P

I noticed that most things have been changed here. But the most sadly thing is that people that I knew before are no longer with CS :-( Lots of new faces in Mtl now.... I hope I'll get to know some of them soon even I miss so much my old CS activities and friends.

SO WHO AM I ? (Wanna know?) ;-)

I'm Québécoise - Canadian originally from Vietnam. I've always lived in Montréal (Mtl) so I know this city as my own hand! I also know most places in the province of Québec and even in Canada (East & West coast, the Prairies and the Yukon territory).

I'm honest, dynamic, very friendly and communicative. I like to HELP people (that's my nature and my work!!). Also, I love to EAT (any cuisine), to LAUGH (watch out! It could be contagious), to DISCUSS (make my brain works!!) and to DISCOVER/EXPLORE new things (places, culture, people, history, though, food, sport... Anything!)

ET OUI, JE PARLE FRANÇAIS!! ;-) J'adore aussi l'enseigner à ceux qui désirent l'apprendre.

PHILOSOPHY
* I dont agree with the new CS philosophy which means to make lots of $$$$ but Im here to find good people with a big HEART and good values as I am ( hihi) which is Loving & Sharing!

**The 3 R (Respect myself, respect others, respect environment)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I heard about this beautiful project in February 2008 by an ex-colleage when I was planning my trip to the West Canadian. Then I subscribed myself 4 months later, in June. My first CS meeting was in July in Calgary. In this cowboy city, I met my first CS friend (Mark Lewis) and experienced for the first time by surfing a couch @ Mark Hopkins's appartment.

I went back to MTL in September 2008. My first event with MTL community was the BBQ Party @ Andres's appart. Since, I get involved in many events and activities in MTL. Here are a few events that I have organized myself or with other CS friends:

So far, my CS experience is pretty good. I'm happy to make some new friends. Everytime I meet a new CSer, it's a new experience for me. In general, people are nice and generous to me. BUT, it happened 3 experiences in which I was NOT comfortable.

After 4 years knowing and actively participating among the CS community, I realize that CS world is like any other world: there are always Good, Bad and "Weird" people.

I had a weird experience with a CSer but he was ok afterwards so I left a positive reference to him (he likes to be naked and asks people to do so but I refused). Few months later, I met another guy who at first was very nice then turned vinaiger by being very selfish and he stealed my money. So I left a negative reference to him in order to protect other CSers, especially girls newbies. (But apparently, some newbies girls are so naives that they kept surfed at his place. Some girls are kind of stupid you know, they dont read references left by people). My third bad experience was with Mister Yan Gourves, which everybody know him, particularly in Montreal and Québec. Because he has a big mouth and likes to control everything and everyone. It happened many times that he yeld at me or pissed me off just because I organized an event which happen at the same time to another one. That's really ridiculous. When I set up my CSE event which he was not happy with the date and time, he kept ringing, phoning and texting me until 3AM!! He's really a "freak control" for sure!

In short, after 4 years having met and chatted with M-A-N-Y people, I realized in some way that the profile is not necessary what and how the person is in real life. So when you read a profile, you have some expectations about that person. Then when you meet him/her, you might be very surprised (in both ways positive & negative!!) So watch out! CS world is a jungle like everywhere... LoL

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

THINGS SEEN:

2012: Modernism VS Muslim Traditions in Turquie
2011: Borealis Auroras in the Yukon. What an amazing natural light phenomenon!

Many things in Vietnam... that make me so sad... Especially once I met a young aboriginal girl (with her baby on her back) who had been walking 12 hours (without food & shoes) from her small village to town to get some rice... Then she had to walk 12 hours back home... always with her baby sleeping on her back... Wow! Incredible resilience!

THINGS DONE:

2012: Air baloon in Gorem, Turquie
2011: Swimming with dophins and got his kisses for my Birthday in Cuba. The most "romantic" kiss ever!! :-D
2011: A non-stop road trip from Montreal to Whitehorse (Yukon) in 3 days and 4 hours !!! (Usually it takes 1 week or flight!)
2011: My first outside Spa ever in winter time !
2010: My first dogs sledding @up north of Québec at -35C!
2008: I went to Calgary by bus (GreyHound) from MTL. More than 3 days sitting tight in the bus and covering more than 3000 km... Let me say that I went back home by plane! :D
2007: I wouldn't tell you what I did when I was at LIDO DI OSTIA (which is a beach near by ROMA, Italia). Woa, what an experience!! Really loved it! I've never done that before...
2005: I save life of a guy (who actually was a policeman!) from suicide.
2003: I was lost on the top of Mont-Albert mountain (Chics-Chocs mountains, Gaspésie, QC). I spent a night in the cold, without food, without any thing and any help... (ils font durs la SÉPAQ en tabar...!!!) totally lost in the wood with wild animals... I thought I was attacking by a bear or wolf... For the first time in my life, I was really and r-e-a-l-l-y scared!!! No kidding!!
Early childhood: I've bitterly lived under communist regime. Also have tasted to poverty system.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you French or Vietnamese if you want and you teach me English or Spanish in return. Deal? ;-)

I've taught French to the kids and adults; Vietnamese to a couple of adults who wanted to have some basics to travel in Vietnam.

I can't stop myself from LEARNING & SHARING. Dont know why...
