Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am new to Couchsurfing, but I've heard great things about the open, friendly and generally awesome community on here. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and getting to know locals!

Interests

I've been playing the piano for about 12 years now (even though, to be honest, I haven't been playing too much recently), started teaching myself to play the guitar, and would love to try out a lot more instruments. A few years ago, I began creating own songs on my PC with Digital Audio Workstations. Music plays an important role in my life, and I love listening to it as much as creating it myself.

Besides piano lessons, I have been doing gymnastics for an equal amount of years. But, also similar to my piano progression, I've kind of neglected that for some time now. However, I'm planning on going back to training regularly as soon as I return from my trip through Europe.

Also: Basically everything digital. I like taking, editing and sharing photos, creating digital logos and print layouts, developing apps and websites, and even making my own videos and short films.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music? I love both listening to and making music. All kinds of music. Classical, Jazz, Rock, Indie, Hip Hop, EDM... There are a lot of genres I really dig. I don't want to restrict my taste to just one small part of the musical world, but rather try to be open for anything.

Books? I really read a lot when I was younger, nowadays not so much – but, like with a lot of things, I want to get back into it in the near future.

Movies? Well, I spent a large portion of my life not watching many movies at all, and I have to admit, I haven't seen pretty much any of the big "must-see" movies (like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Superhero Movies etc.)... Now, however, there's Netflix, and I'm planning on catching up on everything I've missed so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy sharing what I know, but even more than that, I love learning new things.

When I finished school, I was doing an 18-month-long voluntary service at my local gymnastics club, supporting teachers and trainers in sports classes for children. It was great to share my knowledge with them – so much that, after my trip through Europe, I want to become a teacher.
