About Me

Hello fellow travelers and changemakers! I'm Micky, a passionate development practitioner and a social worker dedicated to making a positive impact in the world. I am the founder of three initiatives: Soma Kwa Furaha, focusing on children with special needs; Fursa Foundation, specializing in reusable sanitary pad production; and Chanzo-Based Health Organization, raising awareness about non-communicable diseases.

My Work:

Soma Kwa Furaha Initiative: We believe in creating a world where every child, especially those with special needs, has access to quality education and support. Our programs aim to empower these children to overcome challenges and thrive in their unique ways.

Fursa Foundation: Our mission is to provide sustainable menstrual hygiene solutions. Through the production of reusable sanitary pads, we contribute to women's health and environmental sustainability, and breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation.

Chanzo-Based Health Organization: We are committed to raising awareness about non-communicable diseases, promoting preventive healthcare measures, and fostering a culture of well-being within communities.

Interests:
Apart from my work, I enjoy exploring local cuisines, attending cultural events, and immersing myself in the arts. I'm always up for an adventure, whether it's hiking, exploring hidden gems in the city, or simply enjoying a good book.

How to Connect:
If you're a fellow changemaker, traveller, or someone who shares a passion for positive impact, I'd love to connect! Feel free to reach out, and let's share stories and experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since I am located in Mwanza, the second biggest city in Tanzania, you will have all the possibilities this city has to provide. You can get help from me and the organization with the language barrier and with recommendations about what there is to explore and do, in this way, I can connect you to the people living and working within the area so that you will always have something to do. This way you can experience life in a Tanzanian city like a local. Mwanza is also a perfect base if you want to travel to other countries, where you can get to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi all within just one day of travel via bus! We can share stories, knowledge, and skills and exchange tips about hospitality as well.

-A welcoming space to stay, filled with positive vibes.
-Engaging in conversations about development, social impact, and travel.
-Insights into the work we do with children, women's health, and community health awareness.
