About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Strive to be a more compassionate and creative individual through all things.

ABOUT ME

What's good? Well, many things are truth be told. I find myself living my life in a manner which is built around savoring the sweetness in everyday moments of beauty and the infinite possibilities contained within creativity. Currently I am calling Port Townsend home but have lived all throughout Washington state and have just returned from a long stint in Alaska as an adventure musician. I own a business that designs custom car/van campers, write and perform music, help organize festivals and concerts, and a bunch of other random shit to pull my career together. One thing is certain, I'm rarely bored or sitting still for too long.

The most enriching part of my life however is always the joy found in the company of other interesting and unabashedly weird human beings. I'm also a fanatic for the outdoors and spend a lot of time hiking, mountaineering, camping and all that other fun stuff there is to do in the Pacific Northwest. My greatest artistic muse always comes when I'm spending time outside. Even the moniker that I create under (Mossy Raven) is inspired by the wonderfully rainy wilderness of Washington.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a left wing and non religious individual but not some kind of elitist know-it-all. I try to adopt an empathetic mindset towards everyone and do my best to understand where they're coming from in life. However I don't have much tolerance for bigotry or malicious behavior, the world has far too much of that. Always happy to talk politics, philosophy and religion with anyone who feels the desire to do so.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I enjoy hosting travelers when my schedule allows for me to put some time into the experience. Generally I'd prefer to get to know people a bit and show them some of the finer point of Northwest living, which means I'm not always free to offer my space.

Also just game to meet up with people on occasion. I've made some very good friends through Couchsurfing and welcome the random friends and chance encounters the universe throws at me through this website.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'd say I've run an enjoyable gambit of hosting and surfing so far.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is really my big thing, and I'll gladly chat your ear off about it and show you all kinds of stuff. Writing and performing original music is one of my greatest passions in life. Being a touring musician is one of the most enjoyable challenges I've found so far. I adore all kinds of music but am especially into folk, metal, classical and electronic.

From April-September 2018 I spent 6 months in Alaska as a touring musician living out a retrofitted Honda Element micro-camper. It was a powerful and enriching growth experience to say the least.
