Hi, dear Couchsurfing friends! I haven't been here for over a year. During this time, I moved to the UK, started creating projects to help refugees here, and fell in love with photography.

I live with 2 of my Ukrainian friends in Milton Keynes and we can definitely host for a couple of nights (to be honest, there is nothing to see here, but it is located 1 hour by train from London, which is quite convenient).

A little bit about me:

My name is Nadiia, I'm from Ukraine, and I bring with me a deep passion for social business and creating positive changes in the world that inspire, regenerate, and develop with people who are just as passionate about it.

In my home country, Ukraine, I сo-foundered Inclusive Football for Children project aimed to provide opportunities for children with disabilities to play football, developing their physical and social skills; launched a social enterprise Moim Ridnym aimed at supporting elderly people in their self-realisation; and implemented Charity Dinners in the dark where the waiters and musicians were blind, providing them with jobs, and breaking stereotypes in society.

With the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, my life has changed a lot: my hometown has been occupied, I had to stop working on some social projects and start volunteering for Ukraine's victory, and later seek sanctuary abroad. I spent a year in Lithuania volunteering and organising projects for young people in a youth club.

Currently based in the UK, I dedicated myself to creating social projects here. Together with Nadiya сharity we provide unwavering support, resources, and opportunities for refugees. One of the initiatives close to my heart is the book exchange project, an effort to foster cultural connections and educational opportunities by delivering English books to schools and youth centres in Ukraine while also collecting and delivering Ukrainian books to Ukrainian communities in the UK. Our team is also planning to establish a Ukrainian school in Milton Keynes, providing educational opportunities for displaced Ukrainian children to maintain a connection to their cultural roots.

Also, I am currently immersed in the restoration efforts of Inclusive Football for children in Ukraine, which has been adversely affected by the full-scale invasion of my country.

Looking ahead, my vision extends to creating a social enterprise that serves as a bridge between the United Kingdom and Ukraine.

I'm open to connecting and exchanging ideas, and I'd love to meet up for a walk or a pint (I can't believe I'm writing this, because a year ago I didn't like pubs or beer at all), and just to get to know to new people. I can also take pictures of you on my camera (I love taking pictures of people and nature).

When I had to leave Ukraine because of the war, I met incredible people from Couchsurfing who became friends and even family for me. I want to give back for the goodness I've received and keep meeting incredible people❤️
