About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see everything.

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Mercy. I'm from Cameroon. I enjoy the usual- travelling, meeting people, reading etc.

PHILOSOPHY

Do unto others as you would like to be done unto you. It's not the exact quote, but I always try to align my thoughts and actions to this. Also, to do good in the here and the now, however and whenever I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people from everywhere and share perspectives, laughs, and amazing tastes

Interests

Reading, writing, movies, music etc. I am slowly easing myself into hiking. And other outdoorsy ventures, as often as I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Eternal Sunshine, Quartier Mozart, Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulin, Fifth Element, the occasional blockbuster etc.

Music: The Weepies, Daughter, Charlotte Dipanda, Aqualung, Florence Welsh, Imogen Heap, Lokua Kanza, old makossa pieces.

Books: too many to count. Goodreads is my savior. From drama to YA fiction. Usually fiction though. Trying to ease back into intelligent, non-fiction. Anything by Chimammanda Ngozi Adichie, Meg Rosoff, Marchetta, Zusak. I am a sucker for depressing stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My very first sunrise. I am not a morning person, and believe it or not, had never seen the sun actually rise until this last january, 2013. I had to take an early morning flight from Columbus to Quito and happened to catch this huge orange ball of awesomeness slowly rise behind the planes on the tarmac. Amazing.

Also, watched a 2 week old humpback whale and its mother give us an incredible show on their way back to the pole from Puerto Lopez, Ecuador.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: French, beginner's crochet.

Share: My love for books and music. And my awesome taste in tv shows.
