About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Since I am in transition after a big move across the country, my focus and mission is to regroup, meet like minded people and settle in with a new lifestyle. Change is good.

ABOUT ME

Despite the landmark birthday, I'm still really young at heart. I don't let old baggage rule where I go in the future. Life's a journey and I'm enjoying wherever it takes me.

On a more practical side, I am a really hard worker. My knitwear business has been my focus for the last 20 plus years. My priorities are different right now. . I have two toddler grandchildren that I am helping to care for at the moment. It's been really nice to take a break and enjoy them.

Also, I've bought a home in California that I am renovating. So I've got a few distractions. :)

An update: I am "partnered" up with an amazing, wonderful, kind and gentle man! I need to mention him here because I want him to travel and couch surf with me. He is not officially signed up with couch surfing, but I'll vouch for what an awesome guy he is. His name is
John Budde. I may include him in a couch surfing request someday!

PHILOSOPHY

I work at being the best person I can be. It's an ongoing journey. I'm enjoying the relationships I have with the many friendships I’ve developed over the years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am traveling frequently for my wearable art business. So I meet lots of couch surfing hosts in my travels. I couch surfed for the first time in Costa Rica with a friend several year ago. Unforgettable!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The CS experience in Costa Rica was a cultural education. However, getting there was pretty rough! The directions were using landmarks, no street names. We were so completely confused, lost and even scared at times (since it was got dark and we were still lost). Finally, someone called our host for us when we asked them for help. We were then rescued!

Interests

Free flying my beautiful blue and gold macaws outside, enjoying nature, traveling, knitting,....

I’ve become a really good sourdough bread maker these last few years. Bread making as I do it has become a life style because it’s so involved. I’m fermenting so many other foods and drinks too. Maintaining cultures ...... Phew! It’s quite a thing to manage on a daily basis.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm open to enjoying all kinds of music.....especially from other cultures. I love serious films and books where I’m touched and changed by.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done a ten mile trek through the Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica. This is a lush, pristine rain forest. I should upload the photo of me taking a nap next to a Baird's tapir. I'll never forget it. Running across a wild ocelot in the jungle was also amazing.

Flying my macaws in Moab, Utah through the beautiful canyons was probably the most visually exciting activity that I've ever experienced. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook, eat and share in the bounty from my garden.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to break bread with those whose paths I cross and make new friends while I’m at it. I do travel with my homemade bread.
