About Me

* 3 IMPORTANT RULES TO FOLLOW IF I HOST YOU *

1 - In the past few years, a lot of people started to use Couchsurfing as some sort of Tinder, AND I DESPISE THAT: CS should be used ONLY as a place to help each other and also as a culture exchange experience. If I offer to host or I´m looking for a host, I ONLY seek to meet new people and enrich me culturally. If you use Couchsurfing as Tinder, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM CONTACTING ME.

2 - This is Couchsurfing, not a Hotel or a Hostel: I'm offering you a safe place to leave your stuff, a bathroom to clean yourself, and a private room for you to sleep comfortably. I will even offer you my washing machine if you need to do laundry. Even if you're travelling on a budget, my kitchen it´s completely avaiable for you to use it and cook your own food (put your food of preference here) if you need it. In exchange, you promise to go early in the mornings, and come back almost at night.

Staying most of the day in the apartment is not polite, try not to do that if I host you, please! unless there´s an exceptional case where it may be raining cats and dogs, or you may get sick or need to work (that's totally understandable and I won't have a problem at all with that). But try to avoid it nevertheless: you're here to discover another city, another culture, and I expect and hope that you use your time to do that...seize the day! In the exceptional case of you being in need just to have the first night (or day) only chilling at home because you're in the middle of a huge trip and you need to just to lie down for while until you recharge your energies, that's fine! just let me know, and I won't have a problem at all with that to let you rest for a whole day.

I travel with a backpack too: I understand perfectly that sometimes you're just way too tired from travelling, and you need good rest to fill up your energy. Bottom Line: A Perfect Day it´s you going out before noon, and coming back at least at dawn: we will both be happy as a dog with two tails if you respect this second rule. Hey: I even share my wine with you after you come back so you can tell me what do you think about my city!

3 - You´re NOT obliged to socialize with me: that comes out naturally (or not). If you´re not very Sociable, just make sure so be out as much as possible, and when you come back, by saying " Nicolás, I´'m going to bed, have a good night" it's more than enough for me to understand clearly that you prefer to be left alone. It will be more comfortable for you and for me, keep this in mind! In Couchsurfing you can't get along perfectly with everyone, but the main reason of this Social Network is to help each other while you're travelling.

The only thing that I expect from anyone when I host, is to have the best possible time while I help someone when they're in my town. I already hosted Couchsurfers from Turkey, Italy, Russia, Colombia, Croatia, Chile, Chequia, Croatia, Argentina, Mexico, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, Portugal, Ireland and I keep counting, and I want to enlarge that list. I like this shit, what can I say?

If you follow these three simple rules, we will get along just fine.

CURRENT MISSION

Saving Money to travel. Looking forward to travel again, in order to spend the money that I saved. Rinse and repeat.

ABOUT ME

I work on advertising and Digital Marketing, I´ve been working for a few years for two companies in Perú and a another company in Argentina. I consider myself a curious and funny guy. I´m kinda ¨obsessed¨ with historical spots (specially Castles, Churches and Monasteries). Also Cemeteries, but that´s not because I´m a freak, is just because I have a profound passion for Statues in General, and believe me: if you want to see cool Statues...you gotta go to cemetery! (by day, of course, what am I, crazy?). I also love to cook (and for some weird reason, I like to do the dishes as well...dirty Kitchens make me nervous).

I´m always looking forward to meet new people all over the World. Hum, I don´t know what more I must write in here, Mr. Couchsurfing...Is this enough?, yes?, ok thanks.

PHILOSOPHY

¨People see you they the way they treat you. If they see you bad, they mistreat you: if you look bad, you will be mistreated, if you look good, you will be hired¨ (Mirtha Legrand). I know, it doesn´t sound as cool in english compared ti spanish (¨Como te ven, te tratan. Si te ven mal, te maltratan. Si te ven bien, te contratan¨).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to know people from all over the world, it´s one of the most enriching experiences that a person can have. I´m looking forward to know people that likes to share a walk, a drink (why not) and also share anecdotes that can make us both laugh. Laughing is therapeutic and we all should laugh more (a lot more).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Punk Rock, Metal, Blues, Jazz, Fado, Tango, Acoustic Sets, Composition, Drunken performances in bonfires, etc.

Books: ¨The Dark Tower¨, ¨Misery¨, ¨Bag o´ Bones¨ (Huge Stephen King Fan). ¨The Unbearable Lightness of Being¨ (Milan Kundera).

Movies: Not a huge fan of cinema, but if I have to choose, I like Horror and Mistery movies. Curious Fact: I also cry (EVERY F***ING SINGLE TIME) when I watch ¨Braveheart¨. No matter the time, no matter the years: every time I see that movie on TV, I shed a tear.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a New Year´s Eve with my friends in Rio de Janeiro, in the beach watching the fireworks. It was something unbelieveable and unforgettable. I even got Beers as a present from a few Cariocas that were hanging out with us at the beach. I got into the sea after midbight. Yeah, I was very drunk (but the water was delightful).

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to cook a lot, I´m willing to share one secret or two, specially when it comes to my Onion Soup or my Tacos a la Argentina (better than Mexicans...just kidding. They´re just different). I love languages and local expressions (specially historical ones). I also can tell a lot of shameful histories od my friends and myself: shameful histories are the best, lol
