About Me

We are a family of 4: Xavier (42), Tere (40), Andina 8 years old and Azadi of 5.
Dad grew up in France, studied, worked in his field just to realise he did not fit in. He started travelling in 2009 and stopped from time to time for seasonnal jobs, just to start again on a new continent. In 2013 he met Mum.
Mum grew up in Chile, studied, worked in her field, just to realise she did not fit in.
Dad and Mum met through Couchsurfing. They both wanted to travel together, learning little by little how to travel as one, being 2!
In 2015 came Andina to add more happiness to the whole. She grew up sometimes on the road, sometimes at her grand-mothers' in Chile or France. She has learned all her kid skills on many countries on 4 continents so far. Azadi showed up on 2019 just to add more spice to family life. Though she's been more settled the past 3 years, both girls are fond of novelty, so they're following their parents everywhere, if not preceding them!

We like nature, natural landscapes, and hop in some cities from time to time for cultural, work, or tourist purposes, always being attracted back to the countryside.
We've been settling down in rural south Chile for the past 3 years, to grow fruit trees, veggies and plants, built our own house and life and raise our animals.
But nomadic souls always need movements, that's why we're hitting the road again now, backpacking in Colombia and Guatemala.
We love to spend nights in the nature all on our way, but also would like and need to share our time, ideas, culture and a lot more with local people all along our way. That's why we're here on Couchsurfing again.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This profile's references until 2015 were directed to Daddy Xavier, who has shared experiences and stories as host or guest since 2007 in most continents.

Mum Tere started to host CS in her home in the South of Chile in 2012. It became rapidly the place to be guest in Chiloé, where there could be as much as ten guests at a time in the summer. Look at Tere's profile here: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/teresa-poblete though not up to date as we now share this profile.

From 2016 and on, this profile will then be the one for the family!

Teach, Learn, Share

(Xavier) : I can teach you how to say "my mother is an octopus" in more than 30 languages! And i'll be gratefull if you teach me that in your language or dialect!
I can teach some french recipes, in the limit of the availability of the ingredients in your country.
I want to learn, only learn, whatever it is!
(Tere) : Can teach macrame knoting technique to make your own jewelry and handcraft. Would learn any new handcraft techniques and arts (metal, skin, etc.)
(Andina) : Can show simplicity of life, you just need to be around her to feel it!
Is learning by copying adults, so be simply yourself, and she will learn how to make herself a self!!
