WHO I AM

Hi folks!
My name is Pau and I'm from the sunny Mallorca :)
I recently got laid off so now I'm trying to decide where to go next!✈️

PHILOSOPHY

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."

"Not all those who wander are lost."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing cause it's an amazing way to meet other cultures and awesome people all over the world.
The philosophy of the people and how they help you anytime. I'm here to restore my faith in the humanity :)

Also I'm trying to host the most people I can :)
I want to give back all the help and kindness I recieved during my trips.

Interests

*TRAVELLING
As everybody here, I guess :)

*MUSIC
Especially singing, but also listening, going to concerts, watching it on the street, joining festivals... Pretty much all the shapes of music :)

*FOOD
I'm a food enthusiast and I think enjoying a good meal is one of the best pleasures in life. If I'm traveling abroad I'd appreciate it immensely if you show me your favorite restaurant/food place, or show me how to cook your favourite local dish!

*STAND-UP COMEDY
I also do Stand-Up Comedy in my free time. I think that to have a good laugh is essential to be happy :)

*BOARD GAMES
I love board games, I have a bunch of them and I love to play with friends -and couchsurfers!- whenever I have the chance :)

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music is rock/indie, but I love the music in general (I'm not a big fan of commercial stuff, to be honest). I sang classical music in the Conservatory, so I'm also into Classical music. I'm not an expert in jazz and blues, but I definitively enjoy them.

My favourite band is Will and the People, not so famous but amazing :)

I have to admit that over the years I stopped reading that many books, but if I have to choose, I'd say 1984, I really enjoyed it.
Also, there's a reallu talented Spanish writer called Carlos Luiz Zafón that I like.

If we talk about movies I'm a big fan of Lord of the Rings.
I also enjoy a lot Coen's. They are amazingly clever, and I love their dark sense of humor.

As for series, I love the Office and Brooklyn 99. All the suggestions of series with that kind of humour are welcome!
Game of Thrones and Rick and Morty would also be in my Top 10.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*I swam with SHARKS! In the Perhentian Islands (Malaysia): Craziest experience ever!

*Lived in four countries since June 2015.

*Carnival in Rio de Janeiro!

*Performed Stand Up Comedy in three continents.

*Sang with my choir in the Philharmonie, Berlin.

*Sang in a pub with two amazing musicians, and basking with an old guy, both in Kerry, Ireland.

*Called my boss to quit my job when I was in the other part of the country and travelled for one and half week around the Netherlands.

*Got a job in a company working for Google being the youngest and the only girl of my team -Around twenty people- and the second youngest in the whole office. (I still don't know how I got that one)

*Hosting and being hosted by several people :)

*That's way more than one, ooops! Now it's your turn to send me some of yours :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm from Mallorca, the sunny side of the world, so I can speak native Spanish and Catalan :)
I can also keep a conversation in Italian and I'm actually trying with Polish, but... Well, you gotta try it and you'll understand the struggle.
Ah, and I can ask for bread and milk in Dutch 😁

I try to learn something about everyone I meet, so surprise me with a random fact about yourself!

I was studying Theater and Singing.
I'm always happy when I have the chance to sing, but I haven't done it professionally in a long time. I'm not doing theater anymore, but sometimes I go to Improv Comedy open-mics, they're so much fun!

Note: I gotta say although I sing, I'm extremely bad at Karaoke.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can tell you funny stories of my trips or do a private Stand Up Comedy show ;)
I can teach you Spanish or Catalan, if you're into languages :)
I also try to always leave a little thing to my hosts, like a handmade necklace, an artistic magnet, a funny mug, Polish treats or a thankful card.

I can also cook, but, to be honest, I'm not so good at it. I'm currently learning how to cook Tortilla de Patatas: the best Spanish food ever! (And it's vegetarian :))
