About Me

I'm all about exploring, cycling, swimming, and hiking (running isn't in my repertoire, though, so no triathlon, sadly). Learning, debating, reading, and indulging in mouthwatering, local grub are also my jam. I'm also an avid photographer and, on occasion, even a singer (though I don’t promise I’ll always be the winner at the karaoke).

Throughout my social circles, I've earned a reputation as the most curious person—the go-to when seeking guidance. My insatiable curiosity leads me to dive deep into various cultures. I'm eager to hear about pretty much everything. Your customs, favourite foods, language quirks, memorable events, juicy stories, and the entire history (from your country and culture) buffet—I'm all ears.

Platforms like CouchSurfing, Workaway, and Worldpackers are (nowadays) all in my secret sauce for immersive travel. It's all about deep connections and real memories, not just collecting 325 photos at that Lonely Planet “must-see” location (only to remember two, if you're lucky).

While I might not be the best cook you’ve seen in a while, having lived in six different countries has allowed me to taste my fair share of global cuisines. I'm up for sharing my culinary adventures and picking up a trick or two from your kitchen (and making a crazy multi-cultural fusion experiment if possible — and if you won’t kill me in the process :)

After years of living where hosting wasn't an option or was in places you wouldn't find on any tourist map, I've finally become able to offer a spot under a roof (albeit not a nice couch just yet). Even if you don't crash here, I'd love to show you the awesomeness of Buenos Aires when I'm free, so text me if you’d like. Plus, depending on your timing, you might just score an invite to one of our legendary "prévias" or parties with our legendary multicultural shared flat team & neighbours (ppl from Germany, France, Mexico, USA, and Brazil! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

All about learning through cultural immersion.

I've created my account back in 2012, when I was an exchange student in Toronto, Canada, but I'll confess I kind of forgot about it for a few years. Travelled to many countries (and states in my country) afterwards, but always getting to know people through hostels, airbnb stays in shared apartments (with the owners, so I could get to know and talk to them as well), InterNations and MeetUp events.

Now, after hearing friends tell me numerous times that "CS events are awesome", I have decided to give it a try :)

Music, Movies, and Books

(update: this is now a few years old... just didn't find much time to update it all!)

Mmmmm, let's see.

MOVIES & SERIES (I know, it doesn't mention series, but I mostly watch series and not movies, so...)

- Inception (one of my favourite movies ever. Each time you watch, you get to understand it a bit more)
- The Imitation Game (although the story isn't so accurate to the actual facts)
- Hugo (an awesome tribute to cinema, a nice story & lesson, and a highly pleasant visual experience overall)
- The Good Place (comedy + philosophy + great writing, acting, and execution = unique series)
- Blacklist (crime investigation thriller, [considerably] improved)
- Black Mirror (I mean, no description necessary)
- How I Met Your Mother (I don't typically watch mainstream comedy, but this one is quite unique)

BOOKS

- The Power of Habit (that kind of book that you get thinking about for a long time after reading it...)
- The Compound Effect (another one...)
- Animal Farm (comrades!)
- The Business Book and The Psychology Book (I know, they're kinda like reference books, but they're quite nice to read)
- The Hunger Games series (I found the books a lot better than the movies, although those are quite nice too. Read them three in less than a week)

Come to think of it, apparently I have a thing for books started with "The". Hmmm.

MUSIC

Sorry music freaks, for quite a while I haven't given much thought to bands and stuff. I mostly listen to instrumental, movie & series scores, and the like. But...

- Indie rock and pop, like The XX.
- All sorts of movie soundtracks from Howard Shore, Hans Zimmer, Rupert Gregson-Williams... as well as composers like Ólafur Arnals, Tycho, Jamie xx, Lindsey Stirling, Taylor Davis...
- Some MPB and Bossa Nova (some kinds of Brazilian music) are quite nice.
- Brazilian rock, like Pitty, Engenheiros do Hawaii and Legião Urbana.
- Also some nice 'pop' lesser known singers and bands like Agnes Obel and London Grammar are always in my Spotify playlists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bike trip though many cities in Brazil, having slept in fire stations, schools, and the like.
May not be superextraordinary, but I was so amazed with how well the trip went afterwards that I can't feel anything but joy about my memories during the trip! :)

Teach, Learn, Share

On teaching and sharing, I guess I could help ya with...

- Spanish &[Brazilian] Portuguese (and about Brazil, Latin American, and Spaniard culture – and some history if you're into that, too! :)
- Technology—fixing and all;
- I love organizing messy garages and rooms, categorizing everything and labeling them;
- And organizing huge libraries, cataloging books so you can find them easier;
- Tips on how to save when buying flight tickets;
- Photography: manual controls, composition and stuff;
- If you're into Psychology, we could also have [quite] a chat...

Learning: I'm extra curious, so pretty much anything (although some things get more interesting than the others...). But you know, learning a bit about your language is always fun; cooking tips (heck, so far I am one bad cook, I'll confess!); hiking and camping tips. Also, whatever you can teach me about.

Also, we could share book tips! Podcasts, movies & series...
