À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Living life to it's fullest ain't hard when you got a spirit like mine.

ABOUT ME

Im a FUN and forward person who loves to cut to the chase. Inquisitive and creative. I like to talk and listen. Telling stories comes natural to me. Easy going and friendly. Grew up in Indiana till I was 18, then moved to Prescott, Arizona where I reside currently. Other than Mexico, I have never traveled outside of the country, but I want to someday. Maybe I will crash on your couch?

I'M AN ARTIST AT HEART but I'm also a musical artist and youth volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters. In my free time I like to spend time outdoors, ride my bike, and play open mic here in town. Maybe I'll play ya a tune sometime.

PHILOSOPHY

Roam this Earth and be curious, kind, respectful of others. Observe. Smile often. Be the bigger person. Pick your battles and chose carefully. Do what makes you happy. Have deep thoughts. Express yourself. Laugh until it hurts. LOVE. And don't forget to ROCK OUT every now and then!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

mi casa es su casa. Lets share some space and learn from eachother! I love to entertain and to be in new surroundings. I'm ready to experience the unknown. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've slept on couches of friends, friends of friends and even complete strangers. When someone offers you their couch they offer you a gift, and it's always well received in my opinion.

The worst CS experience I've ever had was on a couch that was 1/2 my size(in length) and belonged to a graffiti artist. It was covered in permanent marker from people who signed his couch after they slept on it. To fit on it I had to ball up in up in the fetal position. When I woke I felt dizzy, high (prob from the marker fumes) and temporarily tattooed on my cheek. The marker had transferred to my skin from the couch. And to make things worse I had the worst back ache from staying in the same position all night long. I'm sure there's worse out there. Care to share your experiences with me?

Centres d'intérêt

Hiking, kayaking, camping, swimming (indoors and outdoors, lakes, rivers and streams :) Frisbee, Rockhounding for gems, minerals, crystals and fossils. Bicycling, Climbing trees, Basketball(watching and playing) Practically anything outdoors. Dancing, People watching! I LOVE to cook and eat exotic food such as sushi, Mexican, Indian, Thai and Greek. I LIKE ART-looking at it and making it. Going to concerts and dancing are a plus. Watching movies, hosting pot lucks and going to parties. Listening to music at UNREASONABLY LOUD VOLUMES and DANCING to it. HOOPING. Driving my SUV out into the woods and exploring. Photography. Barhopping, COFFEE shops. Writing and playing music. Karaoke! I like to analyze things. I usually gravitate towards things that are bizarre, unusual and misunderstood. I collect VINYL RECORDS. 33's and 45's. I'm a self proclaimed Thrift store junkie, rollerskating, sunset watcher. And I like staying up late and sleeping in past noon whenever possible. Did I mention I like dancing? ;)

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

MUSIC:
Classic Rock, Rap, Hip Hop, R n B, Bluegrass, Reggae, Jam Bands, Jazz, Dance, Trance, shake yo booty in yo pants, Old Country- Hank Sr., Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline etc...Electronic, Progressive, Punk,(The Clash is my fave) PHISH, STS9, MGMT, Ani Di Franco, Sufjan Stevens, Led Zepplin, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, The WHo, Velvet Underground, AIR, Kid Cudi, Mos Def, The Roots, Tenacious D, Flight of the Conchords, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Rage Against the Machine, Miles Davis, Primus, Stevie Wonder, Radiohead, Tortoise, James Brown , Janis Joplin, Bob Marley....the list goes on.

MOVIES:
Comedies, documentaries, SUSPENSE and drama. Not much into horror flicks or westerns. Anything by John Waters, Wes Anderson, or Clint Eastwood. They are great directors. Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless mind is one of my favorites of all time. The Hangover, City of God, STAR WARS! Anchorman, Waiting for Superman, Clerks, Stranger than Fiction, The Devil and Daniel Johnston. More to come...

Books:
Not that don't like to read, it's just never been one of my favorite things to do. I'll generally pick a magazine over a book any day. I really have to get engrossed in the beginning or else i won't finish it. The last book I read was "The Monkey Wrench Gang" by Edward Abbey and that was last year in 2010. COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! Especially if you are traveling through the Southwest. I tend to like nature and non fiction books. "Into the Wild" by Jon Krackaur was another good one I read in college. ALSO, Cody Lundin (Who plays himself on TV Discovery Channel series Dual Survival) is a great outdoor/survival enthusiast who has written 3 books so far. One of them, "98.6 degrees: The Art of keeping your ass alive" is a very informative read for anyone who enjoys nature and wants to know the basics of outdoor survival.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

2 amazing THINGS...

I've hiked The Grand Canyon in and out in one day.(In South Kaibab and out Bright Angel) That's almost 19 miles round trip in the hot Arizona sun. Many professionals have trained and died trying to complete this feat. I did it while I was 20 years old with no experience whatsoever.

I've also had the experience of taking outdoor/winter survival classes with Cody Lundin (Discovery Channel's Dual Survival) from a few years back in college. I've built and slept in shelters in the wilderness that were made of nothing but the environment surrounding me. I've made fire with my own two hands and a bow drill kit. And I survived in below freezing temperatures wearing nothing but the clothes on my back. Nothing feels any better than good old self reliance. :)

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I can teach you many things, but nothing is really worth knowing until you are ready to learn. Let's be ourselves and enjoy each other.
