About Me

Hi !
I have been on CS for ten years but my former profile got deleted unfortunately.
I'm Piet, I come from Belgium, I like human beings, nature and travelling to discover the beauty of the world. Even though I am an optimistic person, I am quite affected by what our modern society is doing to our planet and its inhabitants for the moment, so I try to do the best I can do to help while at the same time try to enjoy life as much as I can.
My current goal is to reach Australia without taking a flight before the 15th of july 2024, and meet as much locals possible on my way so.I can discover their culture :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I like to meet local people when I am travelling, and sometimes host travellers in my hometown.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : for the moment I listen to the music that my musician friends released : Roza, Antoine Flipo, Bini, Vagabon et les Skruts, Gustave Brass Band... I recommend them to you!

Movies : I liked the movie Poor Thing recently, Triangle of Sadness for it's cringe humor, and the serie Westworld... Black Cat White Cat from Emir Kusturica is my favorite comedy for it's absurd situations.

Books : the trilogy of The 3 Bodies Problem from Liu Cixin, the Unbearable Lightness of Living by Kundera, How to Blow Up a Pipeline by Andres Malm... I like to read a lot, more essays nowadays than fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

6 months backpacking in South America with my 2 best friends from university.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you accept to host me, I would be polite, respectuous of your person, your place and your goods. I can cook and do the dishwashing (that's my little pleasure), I can also share the stories I have and play music with you if you're up :)
