About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To invent things that previously only existed in cartoons

ABOUT ME

Hello. I'm a programmer and a musician. I love nature and I love people. I'm as hairy as a sasquech. That is all.

PHILOSOPHY

Destroy evil or, failing that, create beauty

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: COIL, Bjork, Current 93, Throbbing Gristle, Laibach, Einstürzende Neubauten, Aphex Twin, HEALTH, Pictureplane, Capsule, Perfume, too many to list. I like rough edged electronic stuff but I also like pop and folksy, earthy stuff. A lot of stuff makes me yawn too.

Movies: Stanley Kubrick, Jean-Pierre-Jeunette, Hayao Miyazaki, I'm not as into movies as I used to be and I never was into it enough to see all the classics. I'm slowly working through them though.

Books: Probably 2/3rds of what I read is non-fiction stuff like science, history, philosophy, economics, language learning and stuff relevant to work (programming, management, etc.) Then for novels, I really like hard sci-fi but also "soft" sci-fi and fantasy and just some novels. The Sorrows of Young Werther is probably my favorite book of all time. It really messed with me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taught myself programming well enough to get high-level jobs doing so, taught myself Japanese. Made applications used by countless people out there. More to come...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach:
-Local history, botany, etc.
-Computer programming
-My brand of Californianized Mediterranean vegan cuisine
-Local color! I will show you people the real local and interesting things you might miss out on. I know all the interesting places to go as I've lived here my whole life. I know what your guide book doesn't know. I'll show you Americana.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can do house stuff like cooking or cleaning if that's what's needed/wanted (but I can't cook meat. you don't want a vegan to cook meat for you anyway).

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

Japan, United States
