About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Work and make some money so I can go travel again!!

ABOUT ME

I landed in Utah after a brief stint in Southern Florida and have been enjoying being back in the mountains. I'm an avid skier and love activities outdoors.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't really have one yet. I try to be a good friend, treat others kindly and help others less fortunate than I, even with little things like giving my spare change to a homeless person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted and really enjoyed it! I would love to experience CS during my next travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Most of my couch surfing experiences come from the fact that I never thought too far ahead when it came time for leases to end and finding a new place to live. I'd say that my friend with the "hide-a-bed" couch was my most luxurious couch surfing experience.

Interests

outdoor activities, skiing, mountain biking, playing softball, ultimate frisbee, going to concerts

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most music, I binge read, I like movies but I can be finicky.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have climbed Mt. Whitney, the tallest mountain in the lower 48 states, piloted a plane by myself, took three months and drove around the United States, racked up 119 ski days one season, seen the glaciers of Patagonia and the Highlands of Scotland.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't really have any "lessons" to impart. All I can say is that traveling abroad is an experience that I think everyone should experience as many times as possible in their lifetime. My only time abroad was a semester in Spain not long after September 11. Seeing everything that was going on through a different lens was both eye-opening and depressing. In my travels I hope to understand, observe and appreciate everything that is different from what I know. I am educated and read the news everyday but I consider this to only be a smidgen of effort to understand...everything!
UPDATE: I have been to Argentina, Brazil, Spain (again) and Scotland. Wonderful to experience such diverse cultures!
