Married to Isabel (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/idcmarques) with 2 daughters Ana and Olívia who are 8 and 6 years old.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that places are made by the people that live in them, so when I travel I prefer to meet the people instead of just visit places. Couchsurfing is perfect for that, I'm looking for the local experience!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rock Climbing? Mountaineering? Canyoneering? Lot's of crazy things to pick from, but the most amazing thing I've seen or done has to be Burning Man in 2007, 2013 and recently in 2023, the year of the Mud!
A CS related story: I was on a business trip to New York and my flight was rerouted to Washington due to hurricane Irene in 2011. Instead of booking a hotel for the night, I searched the Washington CS Group and found out that some CSers were hosting a "Hurricane party" to watch the movie Twister, inviting other to come and sleepover! So I went straight to the party's address, showed up all wet, and crashed the party (and their couch) before heading up to New York the next morning, against the will of my boss who strongly recommended me to book a hotel room, which the company would pay for (boring!).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I try to give my guests their best CS experience ever, but I won't be able to match the great experiences I got from my hosts (check my references). But I'll keep trying!
