About Me

With the acquisition of a jungle terrain within 6 kilometers of the Ecuadorian Pacific coast, we have started a project of preservation and awareness in a communal setting. The man who started this dream was Bola and, after a while, Annalisa took part at this project.

On 10 hectares of land, we plan to create an ecological community to develop environmentally sustainable and productive agroforestry systems based on practices like permaculture and bio-construction. We can use a lot of help with that! Volunteers have been coming here for since 2015 to help local workers in nursing, Lanting and construction.

We nurse and plant trees and bushes on meadows where used to be jungle, which was cut down many years ago. We are planning to live of the fruits of the trees that we will plant. We aim that at some point, the jungle will be restored in its original state in the rest of our land (50 hectares).

We have started this project, seeing also in this land its enormous healing potential and here we wanted to lay the foundations for creating a space for personal care, healing, restoration and growth. For this reason, in according with our lives, people coming from different parts of the world decide to take part in Traditional Medicine Journeys, which are done at the start and in the middle of the year, in differents times, for a period of variable length, from a week-end, to 10 or 25 days. You can also visit us during those dates, but take in account that there will be workshops going on in the house.

So we started this project but we are searching people that really want to collaborate and cooperate in this.

We are looking for people who are willing to take an active part in this project, creating a collaboration, participating and putting in it as much as possible.
We realize that this kind of engagement requires a conscience that often takes time, so, as long as our desire is to find people who wants to go down in this project totally and immediately, we know that this is unlikely to be possible. However, we are open to this Dream and we hope it becomes reality soon.
Understanding the above and combining our practical needs at the Finca concerning work and maintenance, we are currently urgently looking for people or family who wants to reside in the Finca for a long period, which means not less than 6 months.
In this way, people who can feel the appeal of our Dream will have the chance to really realize it if their desires and our dream will come together and, in the same time will be helped and guided by our experience. Once they are autonomous in everything and for everything, our desire is to bring our Project the "specific color" that everyone has, so we can paint together a real Artwork bringing each one a small or a great enrichment.

We are very grateful and we always ask for the volunteers’ help and participation, people who are looking for a short period of experience and who not only our door is open to, but also we want them to feel really welcome.
Thanks to the energy that we all can bear, whether in the long or short run, we could really bring this ground to its ancient splendor ... and even better, why not? And so making the Beauty either in and around us.

We hope to find your interest and hope that our dream can come true together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To look for volunteers!

Our volunteers work 4 x 4 hours per week (Monday – Thursday from 8 until 12). The work in general is planting trees, bushes and seasonal crops, building jungle trails and constructing. Two men from the village of Camarones are doing most work and you will be supporting them in whatever way you can.

At the moment, we are figuring out how we can make a living from what we produce (make jam from fruits, eggs from the chickens and the fruits from the plants we already planted).

This volunteer program doesn't have a payment fee, but we charge $5 per day for the food (mainly vegetarian) as we are not self-sufficient yet. Cooking and cleaning are communal.

We prefer volunteers to stay here for at least for two weeks. This way volunteers are able to get used to the environment, learn from their works and make a contribution to our project. You can also stay for eight days and work every day if you prefer that.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are an hour walking away from the coast at the border of the cloud forest. You can go for walks in the jungle; there are many beautiful trails to hike. We built a camp at the river, near a waterfall where you can bathe and even stay the night.

Further into the forest, there is the Jama Reserve where people do research on the plants and animals living here. They are happy to receive visitors there as well.

Facilities
Sanitary facilities are basic, but working well. We have an outside shower with water from a source and a compost toilet. Drinking water also comes from the well.

There is no Internet access in the house, but you might get a low signal at some spots. We get electricity from a gener ator every 2-3 days for 1-2 hours, when we pump up the water. You can charge your devices at these times.

There are double and single beds with mosquito nets, sheets and blankets.

Volunteers and guests of the finca can participate in different Medicine Ceremonies In January, February and March for $30, and also in the programs, with very affordable rates.

The aim with this work is to share our way of working with Sacred Medicines using traditional tools belonging to several native Lineages of Wisdom from North, Central and South America (as medicine ceremonies, rituals, power plants). The work is developed and updated for modern human´s needs.
