Music, Movies, and Books

mainly listen to R&B and rap; not crude rap, but the pieces that are tantamount to poetry with a kickass melody

Books? oh my goodness. To Kill a Mockingbird and Steig Larsson's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series I have read multiple times. I am currently in the process of reading Tolstoy's War and Peace.

I guess in a certain way, I am a tsundoku. Out of excitement and a strangely burning passion to shack away in Half-Price Books, I have an extensive stack of unread books waiting to be opened and annotated in. A lot of people say annotating books destroys them, but I think the exact opposite. Stories, pieces of history, poems, journals, memoirs...literature in general is meant to impart upon us some sort of introspective beauty that we discover and share with others. What better way to remember said epiphanies than by joining the author in script and passing the book along to someone else? For this reason, i absolutely LOVE getting a book that has been annotated in by a previous reader.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

--> Angkor Wat temples. Inexplicable, so i'm not even going to try.
--> Gardens of Versailles....oh my god. I got lost and ended up here (thank you, serendipity) right when they closed, but the guards were really nice and gave me two hours to walk around and just chill. there were only four other people in the entire gardens and the sky was in an imminent-storm stage, so the greens and colors of the gardens contrasted so brilliantly with the purple/green/gray of the sky. literally lost my breath when i walked through the gates and looked to the horizon
--> St Peter's Basilica: first time in my life that I've genuinely been awed. with my mouth hanging open and everything. (Gardens of Versailles being the second time in my life).
