About Me

-------------Current travel intro (2024)‐----------

After 3500km on a bike from our hometown Grenoble to Lisboa and then crossing the Atlantic on a sailing boat, Juline (my girlfriend) and I are backpacking South America. We went from Belem, Brazil, to Argentina by bus, and then to Ushuaia hitchhiking. Now we are going back up north. We would love to meet and share time with locals.

What our host need to know about us :
- We are tranquil people, we like board games, reading, listening to music, we do not like going out to the bar or partying (except for folklore music and danse !)
- We are morning people, we usually go to sleep quite early (9pm is a good time for us) even if this is not so much the south American rythm (but we can make exceptions) and we wake up early
- We love food and cooking. One of the main interest of CS for us is to share our French food culture with our host and learn typical recipes from the places we visit
- We love nature (our current goal is to find someone who could help us learn about and eat edible wild mushrooms) and we like outdoor sport, especially hiking and climbing (meeting someone who wants to go mountain biking, paragliding or sailing would also be amazing !)

-------------------------------------------

There are these who see a mountain and wonder how the view is up there, and there are those that are already climbing.
There are these who see an ocean and wonder what's on the other side, and there are those that are swimming.

Life is a crazy thing (just think about us, human beings, on a piece of rock flying around the universe), I believe that you have to be in some way a bit crazy to survive in this world and enjoy life.

PLEASE : read my whole profile carefully before sending a request otherwise a dolphin will die...
No really, I'm getting tired of stupid requests, so don't expect me to write you back if you don't make a 2 minutes effort to read my profile and send a message that was not copy pasted. Right now I'm "maybe hosting" because I do not have much free time but if you make it to my profile and are reading this right now, you are already on the right track to get accepted! Just send me something that I can know who you are through reading it and I'll do my best to make some time to host you!

CURRENT MISSION

- Enjoy every food from South America

- Visit my own country, I learned by travelling the other side of the world that I basically knew nothing of my own land and that you don't need to go far to discover amazing things and meet incredible people (not doing that at all at the moment...)

- Learn how to make hand pulled noodles (I am failing that goal for now because I have no teacher !)

Life goals :
-circle Europe on bicycles
-laugh
-hitchhike from France to china
-give everything up to go and live with a tribe in the Amazonian forest
-climb an active volcano and stop a lava flow by peeing on it
-cross the Sahara desert drinking only cactus water
-free dive in the middle of the ocean with white sharks
-solve climate change
-build a sailing ship to circle the world and finish on some paradisiac island in the middle of the Pacific ocean
-climb the Everest on our own
-paraglide along the whole Andes cordillera
-go to the north pole and live with Inuits
-anything else you can think of as long as it is crazier than preceding options

ABOUT ME

I love learning, experiencing new things, discovering.
I'm curious, open-minded, adventurous. I like talking about ideas, about how the world works, about how others think and how they look at the world that surrounds them.

I try to be less of a problem for the environment (eat local organic food, eat no meat/fish, use no packaging, not taking plane, etc.) And it is quite hard to keep doing while traveling, aspecially in countries where plastic is everywhere, but I'm not putting my hands down. Any help is welcome !

PHILOSOPHY

There are those who wonder how to be happy, and there are those who are experiencing what life has to give.
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” -Mahatma Gandhi

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Crossed back and forth the atlantic ocean on a sailing boat during 8 months with my familly.
On a 17 meters sailing boat. Yes, its small. Yes its crazy. Yes it was amazing. You know that experiment where they left people in a small fake space shuttle for a year to see what will happen during the travel when they send people to mars? Well, I know what its like...

Teach, Learn, Share
