About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see new places and try new things.

ABOUT ME

I am sarcastic, cynical, athletic, chill, intellectual, and slightly funny. I have an adventurous spirit, and I love to dance. I taught myself the guitar because I couldn't find a piano at the right moment. I love coffee and beer. I've jumped out of a plane once, and I want to do it again. Sunny weather and live music are all it takes to make a day good. Also, I like fire... lots of fire...

PHILOSOPHY

Let everything you do be an adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate in CS by hosting surfers whenever I can, and surfing when the opportunity arises.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've so far hosted once and surfed once. Both times were a delightful experience that I hope to repeat someday.

UPDATE:
I've checked off one of my big bucket list items, and now I have a guest room with a bed and a door. I did it! I got a place with a proper guest room! Bucket list checkmark made.

Music, Movies, and Books

movies: Amelie, Iron man, V for Vendetta, and just about anything by Tarantino.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have watched the sun rise from the top of a mountain in the middle of the wilderness.

Also, I just finished two seperate spontaneous road trips. The first was a solo drive to visit friends that I planned less than 24 hours before leaving. This road trip involved 3 epic parties, 5 different cities in 2 different states, and sight seeing in DC... all in 48 hours. The second had a set time for the trip, but nothing else about it planned. The night before all necessary preparations were made, resulting in 2 days of backpacking, a morning of whitewater rafting, and an exploration of the DC nightlife scene.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach whatever I can do, including most everything about bicycle maintenance and repair, fire performance, top-rope climbing, mountain biking, guitar or piano or music in general. I can share knowledge on molecular structure and virtual reality programming. I dabble in photography (film and digital), but I don't know more than enough to get someone started on that as a new hobby.

I'd love to learn how to use the film developing kit that was recently given to me by a friend. I have done some development work in the past, but back in summer camp the chemicals were already set up for us kiddos.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't even know. We'll find out when I visit? I have a knack for finding the hidden gems that the residents don't notice because they've always driven right past them.
