ABOUT ME
I was a music teacher, I've played with a band and singed in a choir. I've worked in many other areas (like controller of wine production and dish wash, for example!).
From an "almost-bankruptcy" period, I become a financial advisor. And from there an Executive Coach. And from there, a HR consultant. And from there, a Business Problem Solver and Investor. Rough ride! ;)
I simply love to develop ideias and projects, it's one of my favorite things in live!!

I'm married since 2004 with Sofia, the light of my life! We like very much to meet and hosting nice people from everywhere.
Sofia was a music teacher too, and she loves paint and work with children and babies. She's working with me now and at the same time, on her tourism business.
We also love to travel, we want to travel more than we've made until now!!

Our great joy in life is to help other people to improve their lives!
At the moment we're working with Mundos de Vida (www.mundosdevida.pt) in a program of foster families: we're already took care of three boys, until they families improve their lives and are able to receive them back again (Bruno is still with us, at 24yo).

I also wrote a book (Pé Descalço - Da Suécia a Portgual sem um tostão! / Barefoot - From Sweden to Portugal without a cent!), about a trip from Sweden to Portugal with no phone, no computer and NO MONEY... It's a book about the trip, but also about getting out of confort zone and out of crisis (the trip was a starting point, proving that you can solve almost every problem if you simplify, is you focus on the solution and if you clearly define your goals). It's a book to inspire many people improving their lives!

And our latest project is little Alice, our first daughter! She's 4 months now, and growing fast.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We're offering our hospitality.
We're also telling our friends we discovered this (and other similiar) site, so they can understand the concept and participate, if they want.
And, sometimes, we're also traveling!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We surfed in Azores Islands and Chaves, Portugal.
We also surfed in USA (Carbondale CO and Farmington NM), and I (Ricardo) surfed also in Antwerp and Paris.
We are hosting lots of couchsurfers in Guimaraes, 2012 European Capital of Culture and 2013 European City of Sports.
Our experience in couchsurfing has been fantastic until now!
From "profissional travellers" to "first time ever", we've hosted a lot of different and interesting people, who respected us, our home and our habits, and most of all brought lots of different cultural ideias to our lives, and all our surfing experiences where great!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Composed a 52 pages music
- Help 3 kids to grow as persons almost from 0!
- Travelled from Skelleftea (nord of Sweden) to Portugal, more than 4.200kms, with no money, no computer and no phone, in just 13 days!
- Wrote a book, part of the Barefoot project
- Spend 2 days completely alone in a desert island
- Created little Alice
