I was born in D.C. and grew up around the DC area in MD, spent my summers in the woods in Canada, or traveling around Europe, and the Caribbean. Spent 9 years in the Navy as a jet mechanic, and then a rescue swimmer. Lived in Japan outside of Tokyo for 2 years, got medically separated in 2012. Moved back to the DC area to finish school and continue working with my father as a gilder (applying gold leaf to architectural surfaces, domes, ceilings, and sculpture on a large scale... eg. the New York Life building in Manhattan, and the Georgia State Capitol. Travel has changed my life for the better, it brings perspective into light, and I plan on traveling for the rest of my life. "The more I travel, the less I know."

I glacaded (basically sledding on my butt) down the summit of Mt. Fuji while it was snowcapped to try to get down before it was too dark in the dangerous parts. Ended up going much much faster than expected and slammed into a snow embankment with 2 friends... loved it. I'll never forget it. We still ended up locked into the park and had to bribe the guards to let us out!
