I live on a farm in the middle of the Manistee National Forest in Northern Michigan.

See the world before I die. Experience other peoples cultures, find out who I really am. I love traveling, I like stepping outside my comfort zone and seeing how other people live, which has given me an open mind and made me a better person. Im also a photographer so most of my time spent traveling is taking pictures.

I really enjoy the Northern countries, and I prefer colder places that have actual winters, I feel more at home. In the past two years i've made it to Iceland, Alaska, Norway, and Finland.

ABOUT ME

I'm from Detroit, MI. I like traveling, ice hockey, wool sweaters, axes, permaculture, organic food, photography, fishing, playing guitar/piano, producing music, being outdoors, urban exploration, good beer, and hockey (go wings). I also hunt and shoot trap and skeet, and believe in a self sufficient lifestyle, which someday I hope to achieve completely.

I also like cold places, and don't do so well in warm climates. Probably because i'm from Michigan which has very cold winters. My favorite places in the world are all above the arctic circle, and I will live there someday.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hosted many, many people in my flat in Granada, Spain when i lived their for a year in 2013/14 and surfed throughout europe... from Portugal to Arctic Norway.

Now I have an 80 acre farm and am looking to share this beautiful place with other travelers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

couchsurfing through the arctic during winter and seeing the aurora borealis every night for 2 weeks was pretty cool.

also attending a midnight sun festival in arctic norway (lofoten) sleeping outside without darkness (or a tent/sleeping bag) for 5 days.

built a bamboo straw hut on a beach in andalucía and slept there for 3 days.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach guitar (blues, folk, rock, metal, flamenco) and piano. Also music production, anything from making songs on your computer to anything music related really. I know a lot about music, and have traveled a lot and love sharing and learning knew travel knowledge and experiences!

I can also teach basic photography...

Besides that I can fish and play hockey pretty well. If you come to the US I can show you how to shoot a gun (and how to be safe and have respect for them).

Also, I can show you how to cook! especially any sort of meat or fish

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking! lots of ethnic foods and also wild game as I come from a hunting family.
