About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn, to love, to find my balance, tell the story - and to go by foot!

ABOUT ME

Hello everyone! My name is Wilson McCall, a lover of people, places, and the simple joys of life. There's not much I can say without saying a LOT or too little. I guess the best way to describe myself, right now, is as someone who's standing on a compass. I have one foot planted firmly in careful contemplation and the other in aimless adventuring. The real adventure,I'm finding, is to reach that happy balance.

PHILOSOPHY

Kind of find it hard to put it in a box...especially as I'm frequently realizing new feelings and philosophies. Don't limit your hopes and don't limit others. The only constant is change. Never take advantage of people. Dream as if you will live forever, live as if you were born today. Everyday is an adventure and just one day is not forever. Take your time and don't hurry through things - do one thing at a time. Happiness and contentment for all is something to always strive for.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new here and just exploring right now. I have every intention, however, to participate in events, meet new people, initiate events, eventually host and hopefully surf!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to have an experience directly through CouchSurfing but in my travels with CISV (Children's International Summer Villages,) I have had the pleasure of getting to know many wonderful people and their comfortable couches. I think one of my favorite memories involves spending a weekend at a Poconos lake house with my fellow leaders and staff members during one of the villages. Late night games of Truth or Dare, Jungle Speed and quiet moments looking at the stars were complimented nicely with a Christmas in July Barbecue that was a strange and fascinating experience for us all!

Interests

My main passions are storytelling and traveling. I plan on combining these joys in any way I can for the rest of my life. I love poetry and I want to be a screenwriter and director of movies. Traditional 2-D animation has always been an obsession of mine and a not-so-secret dream includes starting my own animation studio. Ultimately, however, I would be happy doing all this as it comes and spending the majority of my life vagabonding around - maybe settling down in Prince Edward Island or Wales and raising goats and agriculture. In addition, music (particularly classical and Celtic) is a very important part of my life and I love playing the double bass and attempting the banjo, haha. CISV, Anthropology and Running round out my most focused interests. Essentially, though, I love trying most anything that's new, at least once.
