ABOUT ME

I live in a very old farm house between Seattle and Vancouver, BC Canada. I am 9 miles south of the Canadian border. I live on 5 acres. I live only 4 miles from Birch Bay with nice beaches and 60 miles from Mt. Baker. I am 15 miles north of Bellingham and only 9 miles south of White Rock BC Canada. It is a very pretty area to visit.
I am a part time ebay seller, can't decide if I am semi retired or semi unemployed. I am a volunteer usher at the local theater so I get to see lots of concerts. I know my area quite well and can help you find your way around. I might even go with you.
I enjoy reading and love the woods, beach, mountains and the downtown core of a city.
I am a approaching my senior years on a limited income but I know I can still have a rich life. I was a hippy drop out who left the big city to go live in the country. I have done all the canning and preserving food and back to land stuff. I enjoy cooking and like to have guests. I think it will inspire me to do more to my home and get it in better shape. Most people find my home very interesting. I Have not had the good fortune to be able to travel much in my life. I was in England as a child for a visit and it was wonderful. I have been to the Caribbean on a cruise , I drove across Canada three times when I was young and have been to the Western States and Mexico. That is just not enough for me, I am ready to start while my health is good and I am ready.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to show people my little corner of the world and when I feel comfortable then I want to go and see some new areas of the country and the world. I would like to take a road trip by myself down the coast and meet new people that I can invite back to my home. I think I should check out all the second hand stores down the coast.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am reading other profiles and I am getting excited.I just hope people find me. I really live in a great location and I am only two miles from the freeway. I used to go and stay with friends and I try to be a good guest and I love when they come to see me. I hate hotels and I love B&B's but I think couch surfing would even be more interesting.

Interests

I might be getting old but I still love rock and roll. I have been a constant concert goer since a young age. I love all kinds of music "Live" , enjoy plays, art and nature. I enjoy the symphony every month.
I enjoy cooking and hunting after a "good deal". I have been in the same book group for 33 years. I have two grown adopted children and 2 grand kids. I enjoy art galleries and antique stores and parks.

Music, Movies, and Books

All music,R&B would be my roots. Books yes. I used to read a few books every month now I am only reading one a month. We have a great book store just 15 miles away and they have an author almost every nite to come an speak about their new books it is a fun evening. I started a book group and we just had our 33 anniversary.
My favorite movie" The Commitments" heck I even had them come to a local roadhouse to perform one nite, we packed the place and partied after.
I get to listen to the Whatcom County Symphony every month.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Worked at the Montreal Expo 67 was there for Opening Day and was the first person in many of the Pavilions . I have been to England as a child. Love Southern Utah, California, Oregon. Montana. I have been to many concerts and have some good stories about the experiences I have had. I drove across Canada a few times when I was young. Have been to Cabo and a quick cruise in the Caribbean. I met Jimmi Hendrix. I lived on the side of a mountain in the middle of nowhere for a year in a miners cabin in BC. Canada. I saw John & Yoko, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, Jim Morrison, the Beatles, and Princess Diana, The Queen( both), David Suzuki, and the Dali Lama, Alan Ginsberg, Mothers of Invention, Led Zepplin, The Doors, Rolling Stones,Simon & Garfunkel, Donovan, Fats Domino, Gene Pitney, Paul Anka, Micahel Jackson, Celine, Tina, need I say more to date myself.Bon Jovi, Bare Naked Ladies, Michael Buble,Cirque de Soleil, Anne Murray, enough eh.
Sunsets on the longest day of year. Mushrooms growing in the woods, the first trillium of the year. Ester Williams diving out of a helicopter into the Atlantic Ocean in Atlantic City. Salmon swimming upstream to spawn. Niagara Falls. John and Yoko writings in the sky from the back of a plane that said" give Peace a Chance" The landing of the moon on the biggest scene in the world.The last Johnny Carson show. Tiffany art show and Picasso. Alice Cooper throwing chickens from the stage , and his snake. Meteor shows in August. The San Diego Zoo. Trees that I have planted have grown tall. Oh I thought the question was "Things" I have seen and done.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you to cook a couple of dishes. I know the names of trees and flowers. I could teach someone how to list on craigslist or become a ebay seller.
