About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To bring my daughter up exploring the world both at home and a far

ABOUT ME

My husband, Rob 49 and I, Sarah 32 live in the east end of Toronto with our daughter Lily, 2 1/2. Rob has 2 other teenaged children who occasionally stay with us. We are generally unavailable to host when they are here but feel free to check with us, if we have the space we would be happy to host you. We don't always have time to show our guests around but we can send you in the right direction and we appreciate it when our guests share a meal or a glass of wine/beer/coffee/etc. with us so we can get to know who is staying with us in our home. Looking forward to meeting you!

PHILOSOPHY

Hmm, well I'm not quite sure I've got it down to a catchy phrase or deep and profound quote but I did always appreciate the idea of there always being two sides to the coin...simply put, it's best to have an open mind I suppose.

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, keeping with my personal philosophy, I'm pretty well open to lots of music, films and books. As for music, I can be persuaded to attend just about any venue and I'm sure I'll find something I like...doesn't really matter the specific type of music. Films...anywhere from a cheesy romatic comedy to a good documentary...a super scary horror film is alway a good time as well :) Books: If it catches my interest I'll read anything, I enjoy anything from Sedaris to Blake.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking and making it to the top of various mountain tops (volcanoes) was a highlight for me. My sister and I hiked up to the top of Dimond Head in Hawaii. I saw an active volcano in Costa Rica, which was really amazing, actually everything about Costa Rica was pretty cool. Taking a road trip from Toronto to Cape Breton with our 1 year old in tow, Couchsurfing and camping along the way was an amazing experience. We hope to do much more couchsurfing with the ever growing little one.

Teach, Learn, Share

We'd love to share a meal with you, we like to experience dishes from all over the world. We are lucky to live in a multicultural city that caters to dishes from around the world...if you know how to make it, we'll likely know where to get the ingredients. Also, we'd love to share a great conversation over a glass of wine in our backyard by a roaring fire.
