About Me
CURRENT MISSION
The world is full of beauty and pain. I want to see the beautiful and relieve what's painful.
ABOUT ME
I love traveling but hate looking like a tourist. I'm resigned to the fact that I can't always get around that, but I try to be as regular as possible. I'm the kind of person who feels disappointed if I don't see everything I possibly can during a trip. I like to observe when I'm in a new situation and probably come across as quiet, but I think I am a very friendly person. I love asking questions. I have a spontaneous side that flairs out every now and then. As a hospice nurse I've developed a morbid sense of humor, but I absolutely love my job.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I both host and surf, have been MIA for a while but am hoping to change that!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Only good experiences so far!
Interests
I'm a reader of classical literature, I am most relaxed when I'm outside and surrounded by trees, I love to decorate, I'm always excited to find things for cheap at yardsales, and I love deep conversations.
Music, Movies, and Books
I have too many favorite books to mention but I love Austen, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Tolkien, Cooper, Longfellow, Milton, and Alcott.
Lord of the Rings is my all time favorite movie trilogy. Princess Bride is a close runner up.
Lately I've gotten into BBC's awesome Doctor Who and Sherlock. Agents of Shield is great too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Standing on the far side of Monhegan Island watching the waves crash in. One of the most peaceful moments in my life.
Visiting the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem and marveling at God's mercy.
Exploring Hobbiton and having a drink at the Green Dragon.
Reading Philippians in Philippi, Thessalonians in Thessoloniki, and Corinthians in Ancient Corinth.
Wandering around Buenos Aires with my brother eating ice cream and watching tango.
Driving the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland.
Working in a first aid clinic and cooking 2,000 meals a day for a refugee camp in Serbia.
Drink tea and coffee in Jordan. Float down the Nile.
Teach, Learn, Share
If anyone knows how to crochet, I'd love to learn!
Swing dance! It's awesome.
I'll talk for hours about what's happening with the refugee crisis...
What I Can Share with Hosts
Interesting conversations. Fun memories. A bright smile. Help with dishes, etc.
