About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn as much as a can about the world, to gain as many skills as possible in order to be as valuable as I can be for my friends, family and community.

ABOUT ME

I absolutely love life, both the good and the bad--the thick and the thin. Wherever it takes me, I jump in head first and am always along for the ride. My sense of adventure makes me carve out about a month each year for traveling and discovering as much as I can--both about myself and the people around me.In my homelife, I am a walking paradox, arn't we all? I am an anarchist at heart, and I know that it is simply my role in life to not just rock the boat, but drill a few holes in it while I'm at it. At the same time I am currently studying business and law in California, whereas I recognize the reality we are in and want to gain actual tools and skill to transform it, or at least to direct resources from it towards things which can actively change it.

I love talking anything, lets talk! Yell at me! Slap me! Destroy my reality and then build it back up!

PHILOSOPHY

The world is daily becoming more and more of an open air prison--but hey, make the best of it right? I am here for learning and learn I shall. I apologize, this part of me is worth more than a tweet sized blurb.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love the kitchen. It becomes my home and sanctuary wherever I am, and I enjoy cooking three meals a day for anyone and everyone around. I am also very open minded and there for whichever cultural experience my host provides. Not one for tourist spots, I want to get to know the real side of a city, or of a subculture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I lived in a communal house with a couchsurfing profile for about 5 years and enjoy sharing space intimately, especially cooking. I have couchsurfed around the country a little bit but mostly hosted with a place called CRIC house (maybe there is no profile on here anymore, we disbanded a while back).

Interests

I love learning, running, intellectual conversations, dancing (think: salsa, ballet, dubstep and hiphop combined), cooking, playing basketball, existing, watching live theatre, and ya know, traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ode to the bitter-sweet distopian novels. I do not watch tv or movies--spend most of my reading time on non-fiction practical skills books or gardening etc. I do listen to/watch university audio lectures when I get the time. I do not judge others for their lifestyle choices--just figured that I would be honest with mine.

Recently read: DUNE (damn I loved it!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Holding my baby nephew for the first time.

Teach, Learn, Share

At this point in my life I am a desperate sponge of a man, teach me something! Anything! I would love even showing up at a couch and being immediately scolded by an old woman and forcefully taught how to sew. I honestly enjoy above all things the opportunity to diversify my knowledge exponentially.

What I have for you: cooking skills and in depth knowledge of freeganism--the art of minimizing your food costs and maximizing your fun while aquiring food (aka dumpster diving!). I can teach physical fitness and diet needs, business management skills and how to keep your mind body and soul amidst this new world reality.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food, good conversation.
