We are a family of three; me - an English teacher, my husband -a boat builder, and our son -a first grader :)

We both work full time and life can be hectic. If you want to come to our house you need to let us know at least a week in advance. So unless it is an emergency please do not request last minute surfs.

We prefer one or two days stays not longer, and right now i work till late on Wednesdays and Thursdays so can't host on those days sorry.

I think traveling is not only seeing new places but being with people from different backgrounds and cultures.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been a host and surfer since 2006. I used to live in Istanbul when I was single and hosted several couchsurfers there. After getting married I moved to Bodrum, another popular destination in Turkey and hosted people there as well. We took a break when our son was born for a year. Then we moved to Istanbul again and we continued to host travellers.

Now we have just moved to New Zealand and continue the habit despite having a very small house.

During our NZ holiday four years ago we stayed at several people's house. that was a great experience as well.
I hosted travelers when I was single, living in the city center; I continued hosting after getting married and moved to Bodrum. I hosted even when I was pregnant. Then I took a break raising my baby. (no one would like to sleep while a baby cries anyway :) ) and now I started to host again. Feel free to come as long as you are willing to exchange and share culture, knowledge and traditions!

we as a family stayed in 6 different hosts during our New Zealand trip and it was a great experience to see the daily lives and have a better sense of the country that we were in.
