Overview
About Me
*We stopped hosting during Covid lockdowns, but are ready to begin hosting again.*
My husband and I are both educators. I specialize in working with children and young adults with aggressive behaviors and John teaches high school math. We love to travel, but unfortunately that love of travel far outweighs our budget! We are finally at a point in life that our children are all grown and out of the house and we are living it up. Several years ago we began traveling to Utila, Honduras where my husband got his scuba dive instructor certification and we discovered backpacking. A few summers ago we spent 25 days backpacking through Cuba. It was an amazing experience!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We love to travel, but unfortunately that love of travel far outweighs our budget! After having met several people from all over the world using Couchsurfing, we want to host.
Interests
I am an avid reader. Together, my husband and I enjoy biking, kayaking and camping. I have repelled off a 40 story building, gone hang gliding, and lots of white water rafting. Want to go zip lining. We also love cooking and eating as well as exploring craft breweries and distilleries.
A couple of years ago, I had a substantial fall that resulted in an open compound fracture of my femur. For the foreseeable future overseas travel will not be possible so we are being forced to discover new ways to spend our time. It's a different kind of adventure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Cliff diving in La Ceiba, Honduras. Had no idea that was part of the afternoon of white water rafting, but once you are up there, you gotta come down somehow!
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can share the beauty and history of the Golden Isles--and the food. We enjoy sharing a homemade dinner with our guests. We love learning from others and sharing stories of adventure.
