About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Observe the world around me.

ABOUT ME

I'm trying to combine work with travelling and hence I've started working on a cruise ship - which I really enjoy.
On the other side, I'm slowly getting an idea of "what I want to do when I grow up" and am looking into the nitty-gritty of furthering my education, which I would like to do after a bit of this new travelling / working combo.

I don't own a TV and hardly ever go to the movies.
On weekends I like working too (not really - but have to stay positive).
Rather I'd be camping, hiking, backpacking, snorkelling or diving. I also like to hang out with my friends - or go hiking with them :-).
I like to stay healthy by doing lots of sport and, what most people find impossible, I´m vegan.

PHILOSOPHY

Keep an open mind.
Work hard.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a couple of people and I have also stayed at a few Surfers, very friendly and warm hosts. All experiences have been great. All had in common that I've met people whom I probably would not have met in daily life and seen different perspectives which I would not have seen.

Interests

Green stuff: Recycling, Solar power, alternative architecture / building philosophies, water saving, reducing consumption; anything environmentally friendly.
I spend lots of time thinking about healthcare systems - but have not come up with any solutions to problems of affordability, accessibility and still retaining quality.
As mentioned above, I like sports; Running, cycling, pole dancing, hiking. I also like gardening and would like to know more about plants.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Earthship Vol I, II, III. Alternative Architecture.
"A silent spring": heart breaking.
And I have a soft spot for all the Deon Meyer novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have started a recycling project in my previous suburb and it is amazing the positive response; how many people already recycle and really support the project. Awesome!

Any overnight stay in the Berg in a cave is the best experience ever. Forget exotic locations, my doorstep is the most amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Consider becoming vegan: It´s more healthy and uses less energy to produce food for more people. It also uses less water, a scarce commodity for many, to produce enough food. But if that sounds too wishy-washy, consider your own health as your most precious possession.
I don´t want to sound like a freak, I am tolerant toward non-vegetarians.

Countries I’ve Visited

Antarctica, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Botswana, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Fiji, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Mexico, Monaco, Mozambique, Namibia, Netherlands, New Caledonia, Slovenia, Sri Lanka, Swaziland, Switzerland, Tanzania, United Kingdom, United States, Vanuatu, Vatican City State, Zambia, Zimbabwe
