About Me

CURRENT MISSION

create an oasis for artists

ABOUT ME

I AM AGAINST CS BECOMING A CORPORATION

Gave up a lucrative computer programming career just as the dot-com boom began because after my first trip to India I decided to dedicate my life to music and social-justice activism.

In 2006 in Croatia I discovered I had a half-brother with uncannily similar interests so I know it is my true path. Am visiting again in 2012.

PHILOSOPHY

"The world is a book, and those who do not travel, read only one page."
- St. Augustine of Hippo

"...grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed, courage to change the things which should be changed, and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other"
- Reinhold Niebuhr

"much like there is little reality in "reality TV" there is little actual "social networking" on Facebook"
- david via meetup.com

Music, Movies, and Books

MOVIES: Arthouse cinema. Not much TV.

MUSIC: Enjoy live improvised music (electronic or acoustic).

BOOKS: Read intelligent Sci-Fi, Autobiographies, Tim Winton, Helen Garner. Lots of podcasts. Currently enjoying Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon and Barry Humphries' Autobiography More Please.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

INDIA - My first trip to Asia in 1994. Alone, and with no guidebook, it really did feel like an acid trip.
