About Me

I have just finished a 1.5 year stint in Southeast Asia and am traveling around Europe while applying for my Master's and "adult" jobs.

Have lived in Europe, The Middle East, North and Central America, and like staying places for a while as much as taking a short trip and adventure when I can. Love to meet new people, try new foods, drink new drinks, and definitely explore the outdoors, from vast countrysides to dense jungles, concrete or otherwise.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To spread the love of (cheap) travel and meet like-minded souls.

Interests

I love trying new things... reading, writing, storytelling, improvisational song making, walking, photography, watching weird films, working (I know, strange), dancing and all things musical. I like outdoorsy things and out-of-the-box activities. Spontaneity! Trying to surf, hiking, white-water rafting, swimming, scuba, watching sunrises, camping, building sand castles. I like to be on the move... and at the same time, spend a whole night on the sofa talking and dining, meeting new people or getting to know the people I love better.

Music, Movies, and Books

One of my favorite books is 'The Solitaire Mystery' by Jostein Gaarder. It's a great traveling companion, and really different from anything else I've read. But there are 1,000 books I could list here.

I love a variety of music from Led Zepplin, Rilo Kiley, the Head & the Heart, BB King, Amy Winehouse, The Black Keys, the list goes on and on!

Some of my favorite movies are: Fight Club, Across the Universe, Love Actually, The Life Aquatic, The Notebook, Once, Erin Brockovich, Burn After Reading, Empire Records, The Little Mermaid (come on, it's a classic!), Snatch, Knocked Up, Interstellar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sat alone under the starry sky in Costa Rica behind a leatherback sea turtle as she laid her eggs under the beach (that's actually how I got into marine biology).

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not a master at anything, but if you want to learn any sea turtles, coral reefs, and cool things that happen underwater... I might know a thing or two. And I can cook and bake and whip up magical things if given edible stuff, a sharp cutting device, and a warming instrument of some kind.

I am keen to practice my Spanish and help others practice there's. Willing to learn (or at least try to learn) most anything once. Recently discovered I can play chess and actually enjoy it, which pretty much means anything is possible!

Sharing? I've got stories, life stories, stories up the wazoo.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As mentioned above: stories, some competitive card playing, excellent cooking skills, and a whole lot of goofy good times!
