CURRENT MISSION

We are a middle aged couple, kids have left home. We have travelled extensively and are currently, April 2011, in Europe. We live in a solar efficient house powered by solar panels, solar hot water and fire wood. We grow friut and nut trees

ABOUT ME

I enjoy building things, usually from recycled materials. Our outdoor living area is from heavy beams from an old factory and was put together without metal bolts. We try to live a low energy lifestyle but in a normal suburban setting.

PHILOSOPHY

Live light on the Earth and leave it better for future generations.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The best part about travelling is the people you meet. We are currently catching up on people and relatives met in previous travels.
I pick up hitch hikers whenever possible i.e. when the car is not too full of stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled across Soviet Union (communist) by steam train. Hitch hiked from Finland to Norway in early Spring.
Helped bring up twins who have become responsible citizens.
Won an Australian national title in Latin dancing

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to be a teacher-Science and English-as-a-second-language but enjoyed entertaining the students with novel experiences. But I spend most of my time learning. I have been around a bit but there is so much that I don't know that I don't know.
