Artist , curator..63 years old , I know... not the typical demographic for a couch surfer, but in N.Z. I often have young travellers stay at my beach place. they either rent the caravan or do some gardening to cover costs. I like the idea of cultural exchange , and trading work /skills for living.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently I get to see my young son only once a year.
He is a U.S. citizen born in N.Y.C. I am not a U.S. citizen so I cannot stay for long. Our time together is precious and my budget is tight.
Chicago happens to be the city where we get to hang out on neutral ground, between his home and mine.
