About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Having worked most of my life I now want to combine work with travel whenever funds and time allow

ABOUT ME

What to say, I think I'm fairly 'normal' in most things, had my share of lifes ups and downs, including a divorce, diabetes type 2 etc but I 'm a naturally happy person with the luck to have a second husband who is a darling and also a good cook so what more can I ask!

PHILOSOPHY

Do as you would be done by!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I 'participate' in this world by giving money to charities that I believe in, eg Médecins du Monde, Red Cross, NSPCC, WWF I hope I add to the enjoyment of life of my friends and colleagues, clients past and present. As a couple we join in local events in our village etc

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far, we are just thinking of trying it out

Interests

The world in general and especially wildlife, nature etc
I love France which is a country I chose to live in as from my late 40's, find it a fascinating place and am fairly conversant in the language

  • wildlife
  • cooking
  • traveling
  • cycling
  • rock climbing
  • beaches

Music, Movies, and Books

Goodness, where does one start - I like a good 'whodunnit' as we call them in England, I also like biographies, modern literature and some poetry
Films - well I can't tolerate science fiction at all but love the sort of films the french are good at making based on real life scenarios and as a kid I loved the old fashioned westerns Music wise, pretty much across the board, popular classics, 60's 70's pop, classical jazz

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well my husband says it was my luck in meeting him! However to be more serious I'd say that cycling in the sea in and out of the little waves along the beach in south Goa for several miles was pretty amazing, climbing half way up a Mayan temple on the Cancun peninsula Mexico was fairly dramatic (I chickened out of going all he way up, the steps were so narrow and steep) and getting married in France in our village in 2001 surrounded by friends and family was such fun

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a fairly good knowledge of the south west of France, where I have lived for nearly 20 years, and my french is more than adequate to deal with life here With my husband we have renovated a couple of ancient houses and in 2013 we have just bought an old house as our main home so that will keep us busy but we are happy to share our knowledge. We are also both keen gardeners.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Japan, Norway, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In
